This place was generally helpful with my mother's dog, but recently we visited during an emergency visit. They charge $65 emergency fee ontop of regular fee. Dog was whimpering during entire visit and the Vet didn't even take the dog's temperature. My mom called ahead of time to give them notice that we would be coming in. After waiting (and they stated her dog's dob wasn't on file, this is strange because every other visit the DOB was on there, I don't understand what was so different that night). All they did was give a physical exam. That night was $120 and two days later, the dog is STILL in pain. I'm finding online articles and vet help much more helpful than EMERGENCY services. No possible payment plans are able to be made? Are you kidding me? I'm sad to say the office has lost two customers.

All they care about is money. My puppy was injured during a two day boarding visit and they tried to mislead my husband by saying it was an accident when in fact we gave them specific instructions concerning our pets (we have two) that they were not to be let out to play together. Sylvania Vet tried to charge us over $1000 in bills that we should not have even had to be responsible for.

I found two 4 week old kittens and called Sylvania Vet for advice. They told me to bring them in right away for check up and shots. When I got there they said they were too young for shots, but they would give them a look over. They were very nice and I appreciated their help, so when I got the bill for $200, I paid without complaint. They then told me to schedule their shots appointment for 2 weeks later. So I did. I called later and asked if I would have to pay another office visit fee along with the shots, since this visit they did not do much. The woman on the phone was very rude and said they would not offer any discount, even though I felt I had been mislead. I would have just waited until they were older and done it all in one visit. I then asked her to ask her to get a manager. She came back on the line and said they's give me $50 off. I asked, $50 off what? How much will this next visit cost? She rudely said it depended on what the Dr. did. She then said "goodbye" and hung up. It is unfortunate that I feel uncomfortable there now and will not be returning.

I've had a great experience with Sylvania Vet. My dog is always getting into one scrape or another, so I've spent plenty of time there. The staff is just awesome and will go out of their way to accomodate you and your pet. Vet care is always expensive, but I feel that the service my family's gotten is well worth the cost.

We are in town on business and our cat is sick. He is at Sylvania Vet right now. Dr. Bob fit us in unscheduled to look at our cat, and get him admitted. Wonderful staff. To be away from home, and our regular vet could have been extremely stressful...Dr Bob took all the stress, and worry out of the equation so we can focus on our cats recovery.
