Really feel they put more attention to making money than care of the animals

I love VCA! I have been taking my Dachshund/Rat Terrier mix Walter there sense I got him. He goes there for his check ups and now we got to call them because I think he has a yeast infection in his ear so he needs to go! The only thing that he did not go there for was when he was neutered when he was a puppy because another place had it for a cheaper price but I regret it because they did not treat him that well and his stiches fell out to early and I know at VCA they would have love to have him around after his surgery because he is such a funny and playful dog and VERY loving!

I adopted a cat from a shelter, one week later he became very sick with a respiratory infection. I had taken him to Banfield where they gave him an antibiotic, 4 days later he was worse, almost unable to breathe. Being a Saturday, Banfield was unable to see him. I called VCA and they got me in immediately. When I arrived they were so caring and helpful. I did not feel like they were pushing expensive tests and genuinely cared about the health of my cat. One day later he was feeling better thanks for their aggressive treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Rebecca and VCA!

This used to be my vet simply due to convenience. First the good stuff. As stated before, convenience. Also, they were never straight out impolite or unfriendly and my dog liked them which is of course major. Bad stuff. This place is essentially a rip-off. I was lucky to be able to compare service and prices with Fifth and Kenny Animal Hospital (the best vet EVER, and I know what I'm talking about) and they were grossly overpriced. Every single visit, or test was a good 30% mark-up from the other vet.They also don't analyze the samples there so you have to wait days to get the results, which is.. odd. Funny story. I adopted my dog from the shelter, found some worms in his business and took that particular business to this vet. They charged me $20 above what my old vet would have charged me and had me wait 3 days on the results (with a dog with worms) Then they called and told me that its clean and my dog is worm free. So I point out that I actually saw the worms and the lady told me that, well they would have put him on dewormers anyways. Hm... There were other times when they straight lied to me, and when I pointed it out to them they varied their statement within the lie, it was very uncomfortable. He had received all his necessary vaccinations at the shelter and only needed a booster for a couple. They wanted to give him 3 vaccinations that he no longer needed although they had his file and wanted to give him 2 sets of boosters on top of the one he needed. Had I not called the shelter and my old vet to confirm I would have been out of hundreds of dollars and would have pumped my dog full of medication he didn't need. And there was that time when I wanted to order his heartworm medication via 1800PetMeds and they refused (they HAVE to let me order it if they have the record of his heartworm test on file, which they did) so they put me on hold for, yep, 25 minutes. Miserable, miserable experience. They did always treat my dog well, so that's why I give them 2 stars, rather than just 1. Cheers.

This isnt just an animal hospital. We take our dogs here for regular vet visits and they have been absolutely wonderful. Like the other post said, you can tell that every single person loooves their job. This kind of service is hard to come by these days, would recommend them to any of my fellow dog lovers :)
