Brought our dog in with a spinal injury which we found out later. Our dog could barley walk and the hair along its back wouldn't go down. She also had a strange arch in her back. They took x Rays and examined our dog. They couldn't find anything at all. They said our dog had a problem with her knee. No evidence but had a problem. They drew blood to see if she could take a arthritic medicine. She had high enzymes and couldn't take it. They prescribed her tramadol. She got worse. We took a video of her and sent it to our vet friend. She immediately told us she had a spinal injury. She told us what we needed for her. We called this vet back and explained to them what was wrong with her. They then gave us a prescription for prednisone. Prior to this we called back about her getting worse. All they wanted to do was investigate her enzyme count. 185.00 later they did nothing for us. They said they don't deal with spinal problems. Thanks for taking our money to do nothing. I'm glad we found a real vet. Our dog is doing well and recovering.
Absolutely love this place!!! They treat all my fur kids extremely well!!! I highly recommend them to everyone! The staff is also sweet!! A little pricey but worth it for my fur kids!
Austintown Veterinary Clinic offers employment to new vets where they learn more under the expertise of Dr Baker. Whether Doc Baker or a newer vet, they treat your pet as one of their own family. They take time to diagnose and treat the animal, and to answer all questions. Some services seem pricey---but if you want the right answer the first time, this clinic will serve you well. The clinic is busy, so it helps to be organized before your visit, write down your concerns so you do not forget, and stick to giving the most info about the reason for your visit. They do well-visits, shots, ill-visits, and surgeries. I still miss vets who have gone on to make their own businesses, but I have also found the "newer" vets to be equally qualified and caring. I can live with the front desk "negative personalities", as long as my "furry kids" are treated well. :-)
Some of them are not very nice. Short and snippy on the phone and in person. But the vets there are phenominal, so I keep going back.
