Sadly I once loved this place but ever since Dr Goza retired?? this place has went down hill the prices are on par with any other place in the Portland area, we once would drive out to Astoria to avoid being taken to the cleaners and because the holistic approach was great. Sadly Dr. Goza must have been the only thing holding this place together. We went there yesterday thinking that possibly the staff that took over would continue his tradition of giving the community affordable veterinarian bills with the care you and would expect a pet lover to give to your animal. Sadly the front desk was rude and the shocker was the same procedure that was done a year ago now cost three times the price. We wont be coming back if we are going to get shafted we might as well stay close to home.
I bring my cat all the way from Portland to Astoria to see Dr Goza. My parents and their friends bring their dogs down from Portland to Astoria as well. Why? He treats our animals great and is very fair with his prices. Prior to going to Goza I had brought my cat into a giant corporate vet in Portland when he got sick. They said it would be a $600 complicated procedure. Went to Goza and he said that they totally misdiagnosed his condition and that the issue the animal was having was not that big of a deal. Dr Goza fixed the cat and saved me a ton of money. Cat is as good as new. Definately worth the drive.
On April 12, we took our 6 year old Siberian Husky Norwegian Elkhound to have a large fat mass removed. We were referred by two former clients to go to Astoria to Columbia Veterinary Hospital. We had received difficult news in Gresham from our vet that the surgery would be over $1,800 and another vets estimate of around $2,000 plus. We were devastated as we couldn't afford that. We didn't want to lose our beautiful dog as he is our family. So when we heard about Columbia Veterinary Hospital and looked at other reviews we had to call. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We were quoted on the phone $175 to $250 dollars for the surgery. We were amazed and blessed. We scheduled a time to have the surgery and went on a Saturday. The hospital was very clean and kept up nicely. The staff was helpful and extra caring as I was a bit nervous of the possibility of losing our very loved pet. When we picked him up he looked great. Dr. Kristin Zedwick met with us and told us how everything went, what to expect and what to do in great detail for his daily care post surgery. Surgery and medications ended up being in the same price range as we were quoted. Our dog is doing great, enjoying a better quality of life thanks to Dr. Kristin Zedwick and the Columbia Veterinary Hospital. We are so blessed that we learned about them and for the incredible work that they do. I highly recommend the hospital and we would tell you it's more than worth the drive. You will save so much and have excellent care. They really care about helping animals. I would call the clinic prior to your visit as they schedule some surgeries and some visits are first come first serve.
Dr. Goza and the rest of the staff are THE BEST. i actually live an hour away but will ALWAYS take my cats and dogs here for treatment. they just can't be beat.
I have been taking my dogs to Dr Goza for 30 years now. He is the best! He loves the animals and gives them the best care. I drive 100 miles one way and it's worth it! I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else!
