After reading PBaker's review below, I felt compelled to post a review, which I rarely do. Dr. Cyman and her staff have kept our Ridgeback alive and well for nearly four years, against ALL the odds. He was diagnosed with mast cell cancer, which quickly spread. We subjected him to four surgeries to remove the biggest tumors and then three rounds of chemo. I did my research, too. Of course, cost was an issue, but above all, we wanted to ensure that our boy's quality of life would be preserved. I consulted with Dr. Villalobos at UC Davis and everything Dr. Cyman recommended was on par with what she advised. Dr. Cyman's number one priority has always been to ensure the best quality of life. She and her staff explain the pros and cons of every course of treatment. They are warm and all the dogs there are cared for with love and respect. I've sat with people who have come from all parts of the country, even flying their dogs from Hawaii, because of this clinic's knowledge, care and outcomes. Sadly, Dr. Cyman will be retiring in March--a huge loss for the veterinary oncology practice and all our pets. I can't thank them enough for everything they've done --and all the times they've bent over backwards --for us and our dog.
I felt so fortunate to have this clinic available. Dr Cyman is genuine and compassionate. While this treatment is expensive for sure, it is a choice. I felt the odds were in my dogs favor and decided to treat her soft tissue sarcoma rather than let it go and have to either amputate or put her down. None of the options were inexpensive. I'm not sure what happened with the one star review of PBaker but I could not disagree with her more. There were folks from Anchorage and Seattle having their pets treated and I felt so fortunate I only had to drive across town. The staff at the clinic go out of their way to minimize your pets anxiety and all I can say is God Bless them and thanks so much. I have hope.
