Called them 4 hours before they closed, they had no appointments. They still took my cat as a direct admit until they were able to see and fix her up. They knocked her out, took care of the problem (probably infected cat bite) and had me out with a very reasonable bill. The staff were all friendly. Dr. Renee Lauby spoke to me for a few minutes when I came to pick the cat up and she seemed like a great Vet and a nice person! I will absolutely return when I need it. My family is very greatful.
This vet is very overpriced. The quotes for exams and various procedures is usually higher than other veterinarians around town. I also think other vets we've been to are more thorough, caring, and knowledgable.
I had been taking my animals to Riverside for 15 years. They used to be honest, trustworthy and really fantastic! Now, they are greed mongers and try to upsell everything. Not only that, they make it soooo obvious that they are only in it for the money. My dog had an issue (histiocytoma) that they estimated would cost between $450 and $967 to resolve by performing surgery. Surgery to remove a very common type of tumor found mainly in young bully breeds, usually found on their heads, necks or limbs (my dogs was on his front leg). I was astounded at Riverside's estimate for a cosmetic "scraping" on my dogs leg so I consulted a different vet in town. This vet obviously knew what the problem was and they said to leave things alone for 3 to 4 months and the problem would usually resolve on its own, which it did. This vet not only saved my dog from being put under unnecessarily but also saved me a lot of money. Want an honest vet? Try Valley Animal Hospital!
Riverside is fast-food vet service. They are disorganized. I planned shots for my dog and they gave an extra shot that I said not to give her. I asked for a prescription to be renewed and they forgot. They now want us to come in again and pay again for another appointment for the prescription we could have got at the last appointment. It is a way to get more money out of us! We are changing to a new vet for our dogs.
I wrote a review earlier. Seems they erased it. We were misled as to a surgery required (type and not necessary), who could do it (it should have been a specialist and it was not offered). Also that although special monitoring and care were needed after surgery and we should leave our pet in the hospital, we were not told no one would be there to do the monitioring. Can't trust them. Will not respond to me either.
