First off, Dr. Mills is awesome. This said, he is to far removed from the every day operation of his business it is ridiculous. The "techs" and front office staff must be straight from some diploma mill because they are all very unprofessional. They don't return phone calls, seem to have no compassion for the animals and can't even seem to figure out how to get your papers together to pay a bill. I waited at the counter the other day with my sick dog for ten minutes waiting for some fat lady to get off her butt to actually go get our invoice. Today I had a question about our dog which we took in last week and the lady I spoke with said a vet would call me back. That was at 10:00 this morning and it is now 4:00 in the afternoon with no feedback. So guess what, I will take my business elsewhere. When the care of the animal is at the bottom of a vets priority list it is time to go elsewhere. Sadly, this is the road Companion Pet Clinic has gone. Hey Dr. Mills, get your act together and get your business running right!

I went in a week ago to ask for some information. As soon as i walked in there were 3 ladies on front counter NOT ONE of them greeted me! I consider that totally rude If you are running a business a greeting and a smile is the first thing a client/future client should see. I proceed to the counter one of the girls was doing some filing one was on computer and the other was by side door getting some papers. anyway i walk up to the lady that was sitting in front of computer she didn't even look at me so I was standing there for about 30sec til the lady by the side door greeted me she was friendly and very nice but by this time i was already disappointed in this place. I hope supervisors have an eye on their front counter personnel and remind them that this is a business and a smile goes a long way not just because this is a walking in clinic people should take how RUDE your receptionist are.

I would never take any animal to this place. I quit going here years ago. When we moved here in 1993 I started taking my pet there as we adopted them. The service went from Bad to I can't believe this really happened. On two occasions I wrote letters complaining about treatment & what I would witness in this place & never received any response. On one occasion I was waiting for my appointment & an elderly couple ( in their 80's) came in clutching their dog (her baby) to her chest crying stating the dog was very ill & would most likely have to be put to sleep. This Poor woman was in tears & it was so sad. This Receptionist did not show 1 sign of Any kind of compassion to this couple did not offer to take her to room to discuss what the cost were, she just kept talking in a Business voice telling the the charges. WoW really why not take these poor people into a room for some privacy. It was already a bad situation for them & she just made it worse. Okay now when my cat Mimi was dying I took my cat in there to them & the Vet whoever it was at that time just blurted out Oh Your Cat is Dying We should Put Her Down Right Now. They wanted to take her in the back away from me & do this. Really?? I told them No thank you & took to Keizer Vet Clinic & had Dr. Gerard look at her & was all ready to have her put down but he told me to leave her there with them for the weekend & they did not even charge me for leaving her there except for any food or meds. She was okay when i picked her up , but told me she would be okay for a little while & when it was time I would know. And true to his word she was okay for a little while & within a month I had to take her in, but they kindness they showed me & the compassion exceeded all my expectations. Mimi was put to sleep but I thank God for Keizer Vet Clinic

The skilled and compassionate folks at Companion Pet treated my kitty affordably for over 13 years. This is a walk-in clinic, so you do will your chances on timing. Call for an estimate of timing if you are rushed. If vets are in surgery, or if there is an extreme crises with another animal client, yes, you will wait. But I personally feel my time is worth it for the savings in the overall vet bill. A special big shout-out for veterinarian Dr. Julie Rowley. I will use Companion Pet for my next animal friend.

I would not go here again if it was the last option. Not only did we have to wait over three hours to be seen (walk-in only), but the service was subpar. We needed paperwork done to travel and they completely did it wrong. We had to pay another vet to do it over. Don't trust them to do anything important.
