I used the coupon for a free office visit for Jett (my kitty) & was thrilled at the professionalism & compassionate care! I was so pleased with my experience, I brought Luna in for the second free office visit (the coupon is for two pets), Dr. Anderson is the cat whisperer...she literally had ESP with Luna! She gave Luna loving care & offered suggestions about how I could help Luna feel more secure & safe...she is the littlest of 6 pets, weighing just 7 lbs. Again, I was in awe at the wonderful customer service & loving informed care...So, I brought my Pugweenie Bear in & signed him up for their Yearly Care Package...I highly recommend VCA & the wonderful staff, especially Dr, Anderson!

I just moved from a different local vet to this office. The place is set up like a human doctor's clinic, not like my old place. The place is clean, professional, and the employees seem to really care about you and your animal. We will be boarding our dog there next weekend we like it so much.

Sad to say, but this place has a priority on sales. Yes, they take adequate care of the pets brought in their doors but they are a place to make money first and foremost. They tacked every possible additional expense onto my bill from additional drugs for my dog, to the "wellness exam" which was supposed to give a discount for the vaccines (which were not needed as they had arleady been done!) but the total of the vaccines was far less than the wellness exam. My little girl was there for a simple spay, no complications and she did not get boarded. My fee was $309.00!! We weren't even able to do the laser surgery because they wanted an additional $90 for it. Most vet places these days will do the laser surgery spay, all med included for $100-150. The additional wellness exam that was tacked on was even more unnecessary because my dog had been in the hospital less than a week prior due to a rash. We paid over $220 for her "exam" and a urine test. In the process they tried to talk me into an addl $245 worth of xrays to "rule out" a condition that her only symptom of that was that she was drinking extra water. They are the nice "ritzy" facility on our side of town, but don't expect to get out of there without being nickled and dimed. They will use your love for your pet to guilt you into unnecessary procedures and costs. We WILL NOT be going back, and I will do my best to make sure everyone I know in town doesn't go there either.

Profits trump care here. The staff are great, but they are forced to toe the corporate line. In summary, the wellness plans they offer have fake discounts (i.e., essentially they offer services at inflated costs, packaged together at a discount). Once we discovered this (we've been naive new pet parents) we cancelled the annual contract without being notified that we would have to make up the difference. Since they DO NOT supply copies of wellness contract terms (our bad for not insisting), we had no idea that we would be asked to pay nearly the same amount for prior care with the fake discounts removed, and were charged the cost nearly identical to fulfilling the contract. We may as well have received the services until the end of the contract year, which we had no record of as we have -again - received no copies of limitations and liabilities. Furthermore, I just learned from a friend I told my story to that he received one free vaccination for every exam at the VCA; if I had done that sans contract, I would have paid 1/2 what I paid for two visits a year to get their needed exams. The VCA policies are no better than those of used car dealers.
