Okay. So a bit of background, I had been looking for a kitten for a few weeks when I stumbled upon these 3 gorgeous siamese kittens. I called the lady and she'd told me no one had showed interested in them for weeks and that my application checked out and I was a good fit. She told me that the Cat Adoption Team was closer to me than she was so she would be transferring them there and would be ready later in the week. So,she told me she'd informed them of my coming and I'd called them for 3 days checking up on the status of the kittens and making sure they were ready to go! So the day came when they were finally going to be put out, and of course, I went there same day, only to be told that they already adopted all of the kittens away and of course not showing any real remorse and trying to push me into the direction of other kittens. I'd rented a car and took time out of my schedule to see these kittens. You think they'd call or at least give me a couple of hours to show up- but no apparently all these people care about is giving to cats to whoever they can that checks out as fast as possible- and for a volunteer organization, you'd think they might see when someone really wants a kitten. Even if they did get more siamese cats, what is the point of going back if they're just going to tell you someone took them an hour before you left to go get it? I mean is an hour's hold too much to ask? Apparently so.
I had a great experience with the Cat Adoption Team: their staff was friendly and non-judgmental when I said I wasn't up for taking home a wonderful cat with some medical problems, and immediately introduced me to the awesome little kitty I did bring home. Their shelter is indeed in Sherwood and not "convenient," but, frankly, I'm pretty sure their operational budget wouldn't work if they had facilities in a place more convenient to town. They're great folks who really care about their charges.
Great place to find your next bff: (best feline friend) and give him or her a new forever home.
We are trying to return a cat we adopted 2 years ago. We wanted to reschedule the intake time because my husband couldn't get the time off work. When he called to make another appointment the lady he had talked to was VERY rude she had told him that we were even lucky that we got the appointment in the first place, and that there's 200 other people wanting to bring their cats in. I found that very unprofessional. Its not the first time we have delt with something like this with them when we had tried months prior. Their all nice and happy when you want to adopt a cat but don't expect anything but rudeness if you have to bring a pet back.
These people are super friendly. It was a joy working with them. I appreciate all the help they gave me when it came to caring for some ferral kittens i found.
