I brought our 14 year old cat, Max, in on Christmas Day eve. He had collapsed. They took him right in and started working with him IMMEDIATELY. Our news was not good and we had to make the decision to put him down. But even before they were able to get that together, he passed away in my arms and I just held him tight wrapped in a blanket and just rocked him and petted him until he was gone. The vet stayed right with us during the final moments. We decided to take him home with us and bury him and make a memorial on our property. They gave us a little casket and everything. We had a funeral for him when we got home and buried him that night. A few days later we received a condolence card from them. How very kind!! He was in such loving hands until the very end. I will eternally be grateful. Max was more than our cat, he was our family.
I have had to take two different kittens within the last few months. The first one got stepped on by an adult. He was okay and we were sent home with pain meds. Then another littermate got bit by our food aggressive dog. She was hurt and not really moving around. I was afraid she had a broken leg. She had mild head trauma. I was sent home with pain meds as well as instructions on what to watch for, when to give meds, also advised to keep kitten in a quiet restful place. Amazingly both times I only paid between 100 and 140 dollars. I have always been treated respectfully and my animals were well cared for by people who are genuinely compassionate. You are very fortunate to have such a place. I'm from another state and I am sure I would have had to have x-rays at the least and would be expected to pay 250.00 and up. I am so glad to have this place in case of emergencies. I'm going to call and see if they have a non-emergency clinic during the day.
We were waken up early Sunday morning by our little dachshund that was obviously in some pretty serious pain. After trying to figure out her problem and not sure if she was going to make it until Monday morning to go to our regular vet, we called this emergency animal hospital. They ask a few questions and then said, "bring her in." We bundled her up and made the 30 minute trip to town. There were several people ahead of us, (what is it with animals getting sick on weekends?) but they did an initial triage to determine if she was in any immediate danger. She did not appear to be so. Considering what was going on there, I feel the wait was quite reasonable. Once we got into the exam room, the Technician took her vitals and then let the on duty vet know she was ready. With the information we provided and an examination, the vet was able to diagnose exactly what was wrong with her -- a strained or ruptured disc in her back. This is pretty common in her breed, but the vet, w/o x-rays, was able to pinpoint its exact location. Melanie Blystone, the vet, was very friendly and professional. Additionally, she set us at ease while explaining our pet's treatment and future options. Overall, we found the entire staff to demonstrate professionalism, while showing compassion toward our little girl's plight. Finally, I fully expected to have a huge bill when all was said and done, but we left there for just over $150, including three prescriptions. I consider that an excellent bargain for any veterinarian visit, let alone an emergency pet hospital early on a Sunday morning. I would not hesitate for one minute to recommend them to anyone or to return ourselves. I just hope it is never necessary.
Had to take my dog there for vomiting while visiting family in the area. They immediately did some tests and diagnosed the problem and he was better within 2 days and is doing great. Thanks Emergency Vet Hospital for saving my dear pup! You guys rock!
Our dog was throwing up and they saw us @ 11 PM no problem. Waiting seemed a little long for being the only people there. The exam was $45 with a $45 emergency fee and $90 for some rehydrating and nausea reducing shots.
