Can't think of anything nice to say about Gardens Vet Hospital. Took our puppy here for it's checkup. They gave her a superficial exam and the shots and told us to come back in about 4 weeks for boosters. Cost was approximately $140. Told us booster appointment would be about $60. I could like with that. Brought my puppy in for it's second visit to get booster shots; they charged me $40 for the "exam" which consisted of the vet listening to her heart for 15 seconds. Gave the immunization and took a slide of her ears. (Without consent). Said she had a yeast infection in her ears; even though we had given her the medicine they sold us on the last visit and the dog was exhibiting no symptoms. The vet took her in the back and gave her ear medicine "so that we wouldn't have to do it at home". Talked us into medicine for kennel cough, "because when you bring your dog here, it's around other dogs and can get kennel cough". The end result -- our bill was $178 for a 12 minute visit to get booster shots. We were never consulted about the ear treatment before it was done ... just given the bill. It doesn't seem like they care about their customers or their pets ... It's all about taking you for as much as they can get out of you. If you do go here ... make sure you ask them why they are doing what they are doing, and how much is it going to cost.

We have taken our cats there for over 5 years and they have always provided excellent care. Our elderly cat had a complicated case with thyroid and herpes issues and they provided care that included starting with basic, simple things. They did change the care based on disease progression and new treatment options. They always left us with choices based on cost and potential side effects. Our cats were treated with compassion and remain calmer there than any other vet we have taken them to.

Our Boston has had many issues since we first got her. We knew since she was most likely from a puppy mill that she would have problems. However, we figured a vet would care and try to help us help our puppy. We assumed there were trusted professionals we could count on to save the life of a puppy mill puppy and give her the best life possible. However, this vet has been a disappointment from the first visit. I won't go into all the detail because people want a fast review to read. Summary: They have repeatedly made us come in for multiple visits and try multiple medications for different problems our puppy has suffered. I need to ask, how many times will they NOT get it right so I have to PAY more money and watch my little puppy SUFFER? They have no sympathy that since she's been coming to them for about four months, that she's been there at least six times. Normally, at my own doctor and previous vet, they try to give as much medicene for free as possible, try to make you NOT have an appointment to stop in and pick up meds so they don't have to charge you for a visit. They want money and don't care about the dog's or owner's emotional needs. Not to mention not caring about client retention. We told them, nicely, how frustrated we were with these previous issues and we would need to leave if we could not come to a conclusion. They became defensive and told us to leave then. I suggest the vet down the street on 19 (heard great things about him) or a PetSmart (visited one while out of town and she had a virus, absolutely amazing and professional staff). I agree with a previously written review: they want easy work and easy money!
