I have 6 very healthy cats and I have taken them all to Erie Animal Hospital for about 5 years now. I've been through a broken leg, constant colds, bladder infection/blockage, hernia, worms, spade/neuter, the list goes on and on. We've had some close calls. I called after hours one night crying for help and the nurse stayed on the phone with me explained what to look for until i felt calm because I couldn't afford to take him to the emergency room. I didn't sleep all night, and I got a call at 6:30am from the nurse. She squeezed me in for 7am and sat with me while waiting for the doctor! My pets are my children and as such i ask all the questions I can and I'm never left in the dark. This is an excellant facility with a friendly, helpful staff that cares about their patients. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is not our regular vet, but when our dog was hit by a car, we took him there since they were open later. First, we waited in the waiting room with a bleeding broken dog for a half an hour. We were assured he would be operated on FIRST in the morning but was not actually treated for almost 24 hours. Upon taking him to our regular vet for follow up, after removing the bandage, he was not actually ever stitched up and was incredibly infected. I will never use this animal hospital for anything ever again.
I was a very loyal customer of the Erie Animal Hospital when I lived in PA over the past 4 years; however, upon moving out of the state with my cat earlier this year, who I was told would have to be on prescription food for life, the employees of the Erie Animal Hospital have refused to provide me with a prescription for this food to be filled by a supplier of my choice. I have not yet found a local vet, but I had my cat examined in Erie before I left the state in order to make sure that he was healthy and still required this food in case I was unable to have him examined right away after arriving in my new home. I called to ask for assistance in obtaining his food, and I was treated very poorly on the phone despite trusting them with my pet's care for 4 years. I was treated as if I was somehow trying to take advantage of them or participate in something dubious by asking for a prescription for FOOD. I am VERY unhappy with their customer service, and I do not appreciate how I was treated. You have a choice in who you trust your pet's health with, and I no longer recommend this facility. It is questionable whether or not the staff at the Erie Animal Hospital truly has your pet's best interest at heart.
