We had just recently moved into the area from out of state and brought with us our two cats, one of which was sick and had been to see our Vet back home. She was getting much worse, and we went by one afternoon to see if the clinic would review our cat's records from the last Vet to get an opinion of what they thought we should do, but they stated we would need to make an appointment for liability reasons which was completely understandable and sensible. So they scheduled us for an appointment later in the evening on the following day as this was the next available time slot. However, our kitty made a turn for the worse and we decided to take her in three hours before the scheduled time and we would just wait until they could see her. When we arrived, we explained that our cat was very sick and we were early but would wait till the Dr. could see us as we were very worried. Within minutes, they escorted us back into a room and began the paper work process and within 20 minutes, Dr. Lerner came in to start the exam. Long story short, a course of action for treatment was given to us and explained by the Dr and her staff with options where they kept our wishes and desires in mind as well as the best options for our cat. We decided to leave our cat at the clinic over night for treatment and tests, but a few hours later, Dr. Lerner called and said they had gotten the x-rays to a local radiologist who, outside of regular hours, read the exam, gave a diagnosis and called to tell us the results were not good and our cat had run out of options. Dr. Lerner and her staff volunteered to stay late for us to come back and euthanize our cat that evening, but still provided us with different care plans should we have wished to pursue an alternate course. We did go back that evening and they were extremely understanding and comforting to us in that tough situation. We felt like they really shared in our sadness and Dr. Lerner was exceptional in explaining the process and administering the medication. The procedure was very peaceful and while painful to us, our precious kitty never was in any pain or distress. We would highly recommend Just For Cats Inc, Dr. Lerner, and her staff and as we still have one other kitty, we will not think twice about taking him to this wonderful place.
The staff is very helpful and they do a thorough job. I brought in a stray cat I wanted to keep and Dr. Lerner checked her out and made sure she was healthy. I now have a very happy kitty in my house.
Dr. Lerner is very rude and unprofessional in her office setting. After having my cat in a carrier for 45 mins.past our appt. time and waiting without any apologies whatsoever, Dr. Lerner approached us - Not to say she was sorry for being late, but to tell us to leave the office since we had done it once before. What? We had taken 3 of our cats there, spent hundreds of dollars at that office and I guess I was mistaken, but I thought she was their Vet. She had a room full of people waiting and was outright rude to us with the door open for all to hear. My cat has a heart condition and to keep him locked up in a carrier for 45 mins. is not acceptable. She definitely has issues and I will never go back there again and I will go out of my way to make sure everyone I know that has a cat, never goes there. I volunteer at a local cat adoption center, so I am use to referring people to different vet offices. This is one that will NOT be on my list. In addition, I believe the reason why she may have been so mad at us, is because I took one of my cats to the spayed clinic to be neutered. If she was so caring, it wouldn't matter where I brought the cat to, to be neutered, she would just be happy it was done. I'm guessing it had something to do with the fact that she didn't make the money from the service. Who knows because she didn't give us the decency to talk to us in a private setting and explain what her problem was. Telling us to leave in front of all her customers is not good business. And her driveway is full of junk and trash - it's very shabby in appearance.
I find the negative review here to be very questionable, as it honestly didn't make any sense & for the fact that I have been taking my 3 cats to Dr Lerner for 6 1/2 years now and have always been treated with the utmost respect. 2 of my cats have been going to her since I got them when they were just weeks old & my 3rd was actually adopted from Dr Lerner. She was a stray left in a box on Dr Lerner's door step. My 3rd had a health issue that Dr Lerner helped us through, going beyond what she had to do to insure that our cat was healthy. She has always treated all 3 of my cats with such love and care, as if they were her own cats. Her staff also treats the cats with the same love and care, and I couldn't imagine taking my cats anywhere else. Dr Lerner & staff are very respectful, they always explain everything in detail where you can understand, and seriously treat you like family when you are there. I am SO glad that Dr Lerner is here and offers veterinary care for just cats & I will personally not take my cats anywhere but to her. I wouldn't trust anyone but her and her staff with my 3 cat babies.
They are the best people on the planet. Dr. Lerner is the best vet I've ever known, and I've had many cats and veterinarians in my life, all over this country. We love her and her staff.
