I have had pets most of my life (I am in my 60s so that is a very long time). In that time there have been some bad veterinary clinics and some that were good. The feeling you often got from them was you were the paycheck and they wanted a raise. Not so at McKean Vet. Hosp. From the very first visit the loving care that the staff gave to our elderly dogs (12 and 15 year old) was comforting. Eventually our older dog had to be euthanized and the dignity and respect given to us as we said our final goodbyes was far above and beyond anything I could have expected. Our other dog also has developed some medical issues (doxie mixes are known for their back problems). The doctor took the time to answer all our questions after examining our dog. He was knowledgeable, supportive, and very caring. The MVH staff/doctor also made a follow up call to see how our dog was doing and asked if there were any other questions that we might have. I am so glad we found them.

MVH with 3 great doctors and staff have offered myself and my animals loving consideration and support for whatever situation I show up for. From euthanizing a beloved pet, annual well-animal check-ups, a needed procedure or a stop-by wight check, everyone at MVH is pleasant, helpful and very knowledgeable about the needs and concerns of my pets. I had previously been with a different pet clinic and I felt like a number. Here at MVH, I feel like a valued member of the family. It's definately worth the drive from Erie.
