Dr. Risa and her staff always bend over backwards to accommodate animals and their people. I have never had an issue there. Dr. Risa always gives options of treatment and the cost of each. I find her much more informative than my own physician in terms of explaining what she suspects is wrong, and what the pros and cons are of various treatments.

I had taken my puppy to Dr. Risa as a new customer. This is not my first dog, but I am new to the area. She was arrogant, rude and inconsiderate to me. Then she insisted on repeatedly trying to sell me premium products and services that I know from past experiences with my former vet were completely unnecessary. She made made me feel like she was too inexperienced to have a practice on her own, and I wondered if she actually graduated from an accredited school of veterinary medicine at all. I took my business elsewhere. If you want good care for your animal companion, I suggest you do too.

I had called Dr. Risa for my close-to-death animal in order to get a thyroid prescription refilled. She refused since it had been over a year (14 months to be exact) since he had been seen there. I know that there are rules to be followed, but my animal has only days, or a week if he is lucky, to live. I did not want to take him to the vets as it is very stressful for him, and wanted her to just call the prescription order in. I feel that she is very uncompassionate to have turned him away in this specific situation. WE WANT DR. MAGELLA BACK, she was so much more compassionate!! :-( When I told my story to my aunt, two sisters and boyfriend, they have decided to find a new vet also.

Dr. Risa is a drug addict and is so high she will close the clinic because she is unable to work. This is not an environment you or your animal want to be exposed to; see care elsewhere.
