My Liz loves her doggie daycare at the Family Pet Resort. She gets so excited when we arrive that she is bouncing all over wagging her tail. When I take her in she doesn't even look back at me like she might miss me?? No way. I try to take her every other day. She seems to know this so the day after a play day she is fine but if I don't take her the next day she lets me know she is not happy by barking her head off as I go out the door. The staff has always been helpful and friendly and Liz seems happy to greet them when she arrives! Thanks to everyone!

I have boarded with Family Pet Resort for several times over the past few years, and each time it gets progressively worse. Urine-covered dogs and bedding is a norm. Whether or not they actually bother walking the dogs is beyond me. I am convined this company does little to nothing beyond dumping food in your dog's dish and refilling water, but I am 100% certain they do not watch the dogs to make sure they are eating. After 16 days our 10lb dog is more around 7-8lbs... that's almost 20% of her weight lost. The techs will always greet you at the door saying something like, "Oh, s/he was such a sweet/good dog," but somehow I doubt anyone is spending any quality time with urine-soaked animals. I understand that if I pay for the basic boarding, my dog is not supposed to get "quality time" with techs, but they could at least (a) not lie to my face and (b) actually take care of my animal. For that matter, I was charged $37 for it being a "busy holiday time" despite no mention being made on their website (quotes $32/day) and not being verbally quoted this rate when making the reservation. Now attempting to contact I manager, I get a, "It's such a busy checkout time, I can't transfer you to a manager." Convenient their website has no useful contact information either. Overall, Family Pet Resort is a terrible location for boarding. Maybe if you pay the royalty fees your dog will come back happier and cleaner, but $32/day is more than enough to make sure your dog is at least somewhat clean and actually eats its food. If I wanted this sort of inhumane treatment, I would have locked our dog in a cage with a bunch of food and water and wished her well; it appears it would have been about the same quality of care. Do NOT use Family Pet Resort for boarding or daycare. Edit: I don't buy the "some dogs just don't handle stress well" argument posted. Many dogs have separation anxiety and other issues, but you should be TOLD if your dog is having problems. As I mentioned before, I have boarded here at least 4 times, and each time I get told that our dog had no problems. If my dog was not eating over these past 16 days, I should have been called or at least told at checkout, along with what preventative measures were taken. If she was freaking out and refusing to do anything besides pee on herself, I should have been told. I would take extra steps to try to remedy such things (packing wet food instead, investing in anxiety medication, etc). According to other reviews, it appears as though you are not told anything unless your dog is lost or gets maimed -- further proof that dogs here are generally neglected. If you're a manager and don't like this review, call me or email me. Trust me, I will be MORE than happy to discuss these issues. As an aside, Wellington Vet Hospital should not be associated with this poor review; Wellington has always been wonderful with our dog.

After taking our two dogs to Family Pet Resort for one night, we arrived to pick-up two very stinky dogs (both acting odd). The next day our 13 year old collie was in a pool of blood and stool when our dog walker stopped by to care for them. We rushed her to our regular vet (not Wellington, the Family Pet Resort vet) and learned she had gotten a virus typical for dirty kennels. Then a day later our 6 month old lab was sick (not as bad as our old girl). Following their brief stay, the temperament of our baby lab completely changed. The first few months we had him, he was so well adjusted and friendly, going to restaurants with outdoor dining and happily sitting by our chairs greeting people walking by; then shortly after their stay at Family Pet Resort, he became terribly fearful of strangers - especially those entering his home. We're still working with trainers to help our little guy "readjust" but can't help but point to their stay at Family Pet Resort for the illness and fearful behavior. Please do not take your pets here.

It's hard to believe reviews when they don't have a name associated to it. If your going to review, include your name, else don't waste your time.

My 17 month old Rottweiler Jax has been going to the Family Pet Resort since he was 8 months old and he loves it. He has done overnights and daycare. When we say he is going there he runs to the door and wont leave it til we are ready to walk out. The staff is always welcoming when they see him coming and he doesnt even look back at us. When we come to pick him up he is just as happy as he was when we drop him off just extremely exhausted which is a good thing. His happy reaction when we tell him he is going is the only review we need. Thanks so much for letting us go away not feeling guilty!!!
