DON'TGO TO VCA clinics ever. I had been a client of Wellness since my vets went there after leaving Old Marple Veterinary Clinic because they became VCA. When Wellness became VCA my vets left again. What does that say for VCA when exceptional vets leave? My very first visit annual well visit after becoming VCA was terrible. The vet forgot to give my dog her shots (they took her back to draw blood the syringes were still on the exam table) when I reminded him that he forgot to give her the annual vaccinations, he covered up be saying he wanted to wait for the blood work results. There was nothing wrong with her, just a well check up. She was also micro chipped but when I took her to a vaccination clinic a year later they scanned her and found no chip. I paid $50+ for the chip and another $20 to register the chip number --- but no chip was detected! Find a good private practice vet as fast as you can.

I have found my new Vet and Groomer. Following my regular groomer refusing to clip my aging cockapoo, I searched high and low to find one that would sedate my difficult 18 year old dog so that he could be groomed without snapping or biting anyone. The entire staff at Wellington was helpful, efficient and understanding of my situation and all worked together to examine and clip my very matted dog and restore him to his former glory. He is more pleasant, can see and move around better and I couldn't be happier with a competent, professional and friendly team. They didn't even need to sedate him. We'll be back!

My foster dog spent a few days at the pet resort and came home with a terrible cough.I call the pet resort and was told to bring him to Wellington. I did and the doctor told me that he may have pneumonia and that they needed to take bloodwork and xray which woul cost me aout 385. I wanted him to be well and agreed. She told me to sign a consent form or "her boss would be mad." I felt that the tatement wa odd. When I retured to the waiting room I started to think that here I had given Pet resort a healthy dog and got a sick dog in return. I aked te receptionist again what the cost might ne. She made a mistake and told me that it would be over 500. I told her to get the dog out of there and I would take him to my vet. The doctor gave me a difficult time ut gave me the dog back. As I left a vet tec made a nasty remark aout how I had gotten the visit for free. I had never even talked with him. I took the dog to my vet and he said that even if it was pneumonia(it wasn't) or kennel cough the wise thing to do would be to give him antibiotics. He got them and was better in 5 days. I called the manager and they never did anything about the incident. I had to take him back to Pet resort again and again he contracted kennel cough. The dog had his bordatella shots. Morale of the story - of you leave your pet at pet resort they may get kennel cough. My vet said that he has received several ptients whose pet contracted kennel oug after staying at the pet resort. Also I would never ever take my pets to Wellington. They were rude and wanted to charge e for services my foster dog did not need. Shameful. My friend used Keystone emergency . They were inexpensive and provided terific service with a caring staff.

Before VCA took over, Wellington was an amazing animal hospital with 24-hour emergency care, extended appointment hours, clean facilities, and an excellent staff. Then VCA swooped in and there was a noticeable change - no more 24 hour care, appointment hours were shortened, the facilities just weren't as clean, and ALL the doctors left and were replaced (for reasons unknown to me). I can't specifically say anything bad about the doctors who came in under VCA's watch, but the overall change in atmosphere was certainly not for the better. What used to be a great animal hospital has become a disappointment, and not somewhere I wish to take my pet. Sadly, I hear a similar story from other reviewers, not just of Wellington but of other veterinary clinics where VCA has come in.

I have been going to Wellington Veterinary Hospital for a few years now. Years ago, I had chosen a vet with 24-hour emergency service so that if my lab mix ever had an emergency, they would already have her records. Well, that vet had changed hands, my pup's regular doctor left, and I was becoming increasing unhappy with the service. It began to feel as though we were just a "number", and not a valued client. As my dog was getting to her senior years, I desperately wanted to find a new vet for her. So, I came to take her to Wellington. I am so grateful that I found them. The staff is caring and professional. The waiting room has floor to ceiling windows (keeps the patients occupied looking outside!), the floor is non-skid, which the dogs love, the exam rooms are huge, and there is never a long wait. They are 24-7 with emergency service, they have long, convenient hours for regular visits. They were so helpful and supportive during the last months of my dogs life (she was 14). Now with a new puppy, I had no problem choosing a vet for her. They also are attached to Family Pet Resort, which does boarding and daycare.
