I had made an appointment for my 90lb German Shepard puppy for an ear cleaning and nail clipping. I told the woman on the phone that my pup is very large and at times disobedient. When I walked into the store (the clinic was at the back of a petsmart) my very scared and vocal pup went nuts. He did not like the vet doctor from the moment she came in the room. She went on to tell me that he was very underweight and tried to sell me supplements (we rescued him from a neglectful home 2 months ago) he has actually put on a lot of weight since then. My pup may need to put o a few pounds but is in no way severely underweight for his age. She made me feel like I was starving my big baby. I delt with one technician, she was wonderful no complaints for her. The vet doctor didn't seem like she enjoyed animals at all. So it came down for the bill and there was an extra charge of 20 dollars to muzzle and restraint my pup. Im sorry but isn't that your job, I warned you he is a large full bred shepard and isn't going to take your mean vet digging in his ears kindly. I have never heard of being charged for safety precautions. I will not ever take my pup back there again, it was inpersonable and I felt like I was being told stories in order to add more to my bill. They did everything they could to make the bill as high as possible. Altho, I have taken one cat there a few years back and saw a different vet and my experience was great. They are not at all adept to care for a large dog. My fault, their fault no ones fault, its a business that's all, the love and respect for animals was not there (exception of the one tech). Will definitely take my pup to the Avalon Vet they are highly recommended and wont try to steal your paycheck once you leave.
After my husband passed, my cats Precious & Whitey became very sick, I took them to 4 different Vet Hospitals, nobody helped them. My Precious had a bad urinating problem and nearly died on it, my other cat Whitey could not breathe right. finally my friend Pat told me about the Banfield Pet Hospital. I took both of my cats there and Doctor Mohammed Abdellah, DVM looked at them, "Thank God" he worked on that day is all I can say, not only that he saved my baby Precious life, no, my Whitey can finally breathe again without choking. all three of us love him, for being so sweet, patient and so nice to me and my boys, and for saving my boys little life. Wonderful uncomplaining staff is taking care of all those small patient. I love them all and would never take one of my boys somewhere else. Precious and Whitey Haver including their Mommy "Thank You All" for your fantastic help Monika Haver
