First off, I never write reviews. Nevertheless, I feel strongly about sharing this experience. I have a dog that was recently diagnosed with diabetes and we came home one night and he was what appeared to be in a hypoglycemic state. We were not told nor instructed on how to monitor his glucose readings from our vet so we felt we should get him in to be checked out. He was very lethargic and shivering. Met vet was conveniently open on a Sunday, which our vet was not. That is why I give them at least 1 star... I told the Dr. that we have an 18 mo child and my wife is a stay at home mother, so I would need to see estimates on all of the steps they felt were necessary for treatment. To shorten the story, I was told he would need 72 hour IC treatment. If this was not followed, he would need to be put down. The price tag was $3200, $1600 down payment to even start. I started crying, called my wife and we decided to bring him home for one last night at home. I called off of work and got an appointment at our vet to have him euthanized. My wife and I were devastated, walking him around the yard for the last time, cuddling with him for the last time, etc. Our vet took one look at him and said, "well, it's up to you but the fact he's standing on his own makes me think it's at least worth trying to hydrate him intravenously. Which you could do for a few hundred bucks." With a lot of patience, educating, monitoring and phone calls; he was back to his normal self within less than 2 weeks. It just gave me the impression that they were geared towards making money rather than the health of our pet.

I was faced with the tough decision of having to put my dog down. The ladies were absolutely amazing. They had me call when I arrived and came out and got my dog out of my car (she could not stand or walk) and took me in through the side door so I wouldn't have to go through the lobby. Everything was done in the room I was in. The vet looked at her first and assured me I was making the right decision. For $8 they gave me a stone with her paw print and name on it, and also gave me a doggy angel pin. A couple days later I received a card in the mail expressing their sympathy, and a couple days after that I received a call checking to see how I was doing. I cannot say enough about this place. I've never had to put a pet down before and they made the process as easy as it could've been. Thank you!

Having quite a few cats means that at some point you will be faced with an emergency situation. Met Vet is my go to choice for these crises and has always, in my mind, treated me and my animals with compassion and excellent care. Having worked as a technician for vet many years ago I'm familiar with what happens at a vet, how the billing works, and what to expect. Met Vet isn't cheap but they don't surprise you with hidden fees or unjustified charges. They provide a high quality of care and I trust them with my animals lives. I'm surprised with the reviews some people have been posting. I should just say that no vet will *make* you have tests run that you don't agree to. As to the person who said the vet was going to put their cat down for rabies - I honestly don't believe the story.

The staff was so very compassionate when our cat was in critical condition and we went there for emergency treatment.  He was immediately assessed, and the vet was honest about what his odds were.  Although we were offered the services to try to treat his severe illness and everything was explained to us, we were not pressured to have any costly tests done. When the decision was made to euthanize our cat, the staff was understanding. I would recommend Met Vet to anyone who needs emergency services for a pet.
