I have been using Hoffman Animal hospital for 14 years and I would not go anywhere else. I lived in Newport RI for 6 years and continued to drive to Providence for my pet's healthcare. They are compassionate, accommodating, and it is all about the welfare of your pet. The staff couldn't be kinder or more pleasant and they try not to make you spend more than you have to. I highly recommend Hoffman Animal Hospital.

I've been coming here for a couple of years now and these people are all about the animals. The service is always good, and the staff is always cheerful. The hours are great - evenings and weekends when I can't make it in during the day. The prices are reasonable and I love that I don't need an appointment to have my dog seen.

Wow, how offensive that one of the previous reviewers said that this office was "in the ghetto" and the staff "barely speaks English". Get your racist a** off the internet. First of all, the office is situated in a diverse, colorful section of Providence that I enjoy visiting every so often, and every single staff member I have come across in ten years has spoken English fluently. I have been bringing both of my cats here since my oldest one was a kitten, over ten years ago. They have been nothing but warm and friendly to us, and most of the time when I call and ask them if they have my cat's prescription food in stock, the receptionist knows exactly who I'm calling for. The vet techs are friendly and kind to both of my cats (even the little crazy one!) and I have never had any complaint with anyone I have come across in that office. The hours are convenient for us too, and I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes or so when we drop in for our appointments. The only reason I have given them 4 stars is because parking can be pretty difficult, but on everything else, I give them 5. We'll keep bringing our pets there. :)

HORRIBLE! No parking. In the ghetto. Staff barely speaks english. They took one look at my dog on an emergency visit & said he had bruise on his chest. Turns out it was internal bleeding of his lungs! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS THERE! Cheap prices does not equal good service. Not even close! BTW that lady TIA was so rude on the phone & she ignored us for the first 5 minutes for a personal call!!!!!!!!! BEWARE!

My wife and I have been using Hoffman exclusively for our greyhound and the greys we foster. They've always been wonderful to us and the dogs, taking excellent care of them, and the vet techs are always delighted to see our dogs, so much so that if we come in without them (to pick up medication refills), they give us treats to bring back for the dogs. They also have an excellent specialist knowledge of greyhounds and the particular issues of this breed (certain anesthetic drugs are very dangerous for greyhounds, for example), and I'd recommend them as the best and most experienced greyhound vets in RI.
