We have taken our Yorkie and Boxer in for yearly exams and shots. They treated us very kindly. On our first visit we were seen within minutes of arrival. The second time was about an hour. The reason being was that there was an emergency that needed immediate attention. I was more than happy to wait because I would have appreciated the same courtesy if one of my babies needed immediate attention. This past Saturday we were faced with the worst situation. We had to put our 14 year old pug Otis to sleep. To say that it was unbearable is an understatement. The girls at the desk were incredible! Out techs name was Kim and the love and concern she showed us was beyond compare. She made me feel that I could stay all day to say Good Bye if that is what we needed to do. She dealt with us with such compassion that she deserves to be recognized. I have read several negative reviews from individuals and I am sorry that you have not had the same experiences that my family has. I am quick to criticize when I feel the situation warrants it but I have never seen this type of behavior on my visits.
I took my 15 year old dog in for diarrhea, after waiting for almost an hour I was put in a room. During exam I was told he needed to have his shots, which I thought was unnecessary given his current health but was told they were needed. After examination which the Doctors bedside manner was horrible I was told my dog had worms. I took home the prescribed medication and after 6 days he was not any better. When I called they acted as if they could care less and was told I would have to make another appointment. I did make another appointment but with another vet. My dog was extremely ill by this time and I was told the original medication I was given was not even for the type of worms he had. After calling Pet Doctor the next business day I was told they could give me the correct medication. I told them I wanted a refund in full for everything but the shots (since he did get them). They seemed to blame me for my Dog having worms instead of taking responsibility of dispensing the wrong medication. The Doctors reply was she would give $10 off the exam since she did examine him. So if you want rude vet techs, an uncaring Doctor and the wrong medication prescribed go to The Pet Doctor in Myrtle Beach
Unable to get to the vet that I usually use I was referred to The Pet Doctor. I had a very sick dog & needed to see someone quickly. I called The Pet Doctor & they gave me an immediate appointment. When I got there they were so wonderful!! Kindness, compassionate, gentle & very knowledgeable! They treated my sweet old lab, Kejie, as if she were a child (to me she was) The diagnosis wasn't good & sadly 3 days later I had to let her go. I took her back to The Pet Doctor on a Saturday morning & as they went about getting things ready, they explained everything to me. They had a soft comforter on the floor & they talked softly to my girl, allowing me to hold her close & talk to her so I could say my final good byes. Although it was heart wrenching to go through this, both the Vet & the vet tech, treated my sweet old girl & myself, with dignity & respect. Dr Fotorny, Dr Levy & Tech Jennifer you are the best! Thank you so much & I will no doubt be back, next time not for a sad visit!!
I have been very fortunate to have lived in many states with our beloved pets. I am so glad I am now coming here to the Pet Doctor. The staff is very friendly and accomodating, the office is very clean and nice, the prices are extremely reasonable and competitive, but most of all, my Vet is the best- Dr. Kendra Levy. I am sure the owner Dr. and founder of this practice is also wonderful. Thank you for your loving and knowledgeable care.
First of all , When I called to ask questions about the package I heard about on the radio, the receptionist cut me off and asked if I have ever been there and she didn't let me say 2 words. When I told her that I have never been there she talked to me as if I was stupid and was huffy and puffy and kept putting me on hold. I finally just hung up because if she treated me like that I could imagine how my Kitty would of been treated. They are nasty bitches there and I will NEVER go there.
