I think these reviews are really harsh, I think what this walk in clinic does is awesome. I for one greatly appreciate everything they do, they are amazing and make vet care affordable for people who may not even take their pets for preventative care otherwise. And I also can say honestly that I came here as a second opinion and Dr. Hille really helped me and 10 years later my puppy is still with us and with another pup, I knew and expected the diagnosis to involve surgery from my Internet searching. Dr. Hille recommended an over-the-counter route that was very inexpensive, easy and successful. I have since had surgery performed by Dr. Hille and I agree that it was necessary, it healed well. This is a very busy, very reasonable clinic. You can't go to a walk in clinic and expect the same system you'd find in a full price veterinarian. But if you can be patient, they may take a little while but they don't close until they see everyone who is signed in 30 minutes before closing. I'm very glad there are places like this and people like the employees and the Doctor here.

I know the other reviews are quite old, but wanted to respond after reading them. I love Dr. Hille and have never had a bad experience at Low Country Pet Wellness. They are *extremely* busy on their clinic hours, so the staff can be very rushed--perhaps that was what the other reviewer perceived as "rudeness." As for the misdiagnosis, that can happen at any vet, any time. I have personally known Dr. Hille to be very conservative in her prescribed treatments. Another vet disagnosed my oldest dog with advanced liver disease a couple of years ago and recommended putting her under anaesthesia to do a full dental, for $400+ because she was a "high-risk" case... she passed away three days later. Yet another recommended a surgical procedure for my other dog, but Dr. Hille counseled against it, saying it had a high risk of causing fecal incontinence. She recommended adding canned pumpkin to my dog's diet and that completely cleared up the issue that led to the intial recommendation for surgery. She operates on a clinic style, meaning there are no appointments, it's first-come, first-serve. But any time I have needed to ask her a question about anything regarding my dogs, she has always been available and I did not feel rushed at all as she examined them and made her recommendations. The clinic IS very crowded, wait times can exceed 1-1.5 hours. But in my opinion, the wait is worth it, the staff are all dedicated to the animals they see, they remember their frequent clients, and you certainly will not find better prices anywhere around. If you don't like the environment, by all means spend 2-3 times more at a traditional vet clinic to get the same results.

My yorkie had a mass in his ear. She diagnosed it as a histiocytoma, a non cancerous tumor. She told us he needed surgery and could possibly LOSE HIS EAR due to the location of the mass. Worried, I got a second opinion and did my own research online. EVERY SITE I LOOKED AT SAID IT WOULD HEAL ITSELF!!! And if surgically removed, it could possibly come back. She tried to charge me $250 for a completely UNNECESSARY surgery and a possible amputation!!!!!!! I would only recommend shots and check up visits ONLY!!! DO NOT LET THIS LADY OPERATE ON YOUR ANIMAL!!! They may come home disfigured OR WORSE!! 1 month after she diagnosed him, his ear is much better, and almost completely healed. It was very ugly at times and we almost took him back to the second vet, who told us to do nothing... and it worked! Imagine that! Moral of the story: This lady is making her money off of unnecessary surgeries. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!

I think you get what you pay for. Reading the reviews here everyone is talking about misdiagnosed pets and rude staff. Honestly I would only get basic care done at this place. if your dog has a mass on his ear why would you go to a LOW COST clinic? to me, that is like going to McDonalds and expecting 5 star quality food. I do agree that they are hard to reach, but go to their website and call during their office hours, it's not that hard. I got my boy neutered, microchipped, and his rabies shot here and the price was SO much cheaper than what a vet would charge. The only complaint I had was that they didn't have a debit card machine up and running and that was the only form of payment I had on me. They expected me to board him for an additional charge because they were close to closing!!! We got it all sorted out, but it took some convincing.
