This is the best animal hospital in the upstate and throughout the US. Dr Mayers and Stephenson have been brilliant and fabulous! The staff are first class, knowledgeable and friendly.I have always been greeted by name. They even remember my pet's name.

After being in the pet industry for over 10 yrs, no veterinarian clinics have compared to Hillcrest Animal! Every customer of mine over the years has always been more than satisfied with the way their 4 legged friends have been taken care of. Recently, I had to take one of mine in....I could not have been more happier with the way we was handled. In my 10yrs...NO veterinary office compares to what Hillcrest has to offer, they are not just people....they are caring friends willing to go far and beyond the call. Love you guys...all of you for what you have done for me and my family!!

This animal hospital should be labeled "your pet's extended family".....I cannot begin to express the gratefulness and thankfulness that I owe to this entire staff during the most difficult time of our Scarlett (cat) passing. Everyone of this staff showed compassion....I really believed that they shared our pain! My daughter Trisha has her pet care at Hillcrest and I can honestly say that everyone, and I mean everyone, will attend to your pet's needs. Losing a pet is one of life's saddest times but if we have to go through it I can't find a more loving place. On a brighter note, their regular pet care is ever important also and 5 stars just doesn't say enough. This place is "your pet's extended family". Ann Roberts (Hargraves)

I have been taking my two fur babies (dogs) to Hillcrest Animal Hospital for 5 years. "Newness" and change can be scary, so I was a bit anxious about taking them to the new doctors. However, we have now been seen by 2 of the 3 new vets (Dr. Mayer and Dr. Stephenson), and we are absolutely impressed. The morale of Hillcrest Animal Hospital is happy and vibrant and the professionalism of the entire staff is bar none. These doctors take the time to make you and your fur-family members feel cared for; both Dr. Mayer and Dr. Stephenson have gotten on the floor to talk to my pup before the exam. They are attentive and communicate care plans with care. I have every confidence in their knowledge of veterinary medicine and feel blessed that they have chosen to practice in Simpsonville!

As a 10+ year client of Hillcrest Animal Hospital, I was very worried when I learned that Dr. Hill had retired. Considering that I was unfamiliar with the new staff, I don’t mind openly admitting that I had initial concerns about the transition. Will my dogs (aka – my children) continue to receive a similar level of care and treatment? Will the new staff be as thorough and as personable as the old staff? It’s safe to say that I was quite skeptical. Luckily, I can honestly say that my concerns have been completely alleviated. Dr. Mayer and her staff are beyond exceptional – and that’s an understatement. Over the last couple of months I have taken my dogs in for appointments with two of the three new vets: Dr. Michelle Mayer and Dr. Morgan Watkins. I must say that I am genuinely impressed with how personable, thorough and professional the new doctors are. In my very first visit, Dr. Mayer sat on the floor with two of my dogs for over twenty minutes. It was evident that she not only wanted to bond with them, but also take the time necessary to fully examine them with “fresh eyes”. I was pleasantly surprised that Dr. Mayer didn’t follow suit with some of the former treatments that Dr. Hill had recommended in the past. Instead, Dr. Mayer reviewed all the former treatments and questioned me on how effective they had been. Ultimately, we learned that my dogs had been prescribed an ineffective flea & tick treatment. Dr. Mayer resolved that problem for us extremely quickly with a better treatment and my dogs have been flea & tick free ever since. As for my experience with Dr. Watkins, I am beyond impressed. My dog (Mayer) has always been extremely nervous about visiting the vet. In the past I always had to pick him up out of the car, carry him through the front door and then carry him into the examination room when it was time to see one of the doctors. And even worse, he would cower on the floor and shake uncontrollably during every visit. After going through that with him for six years, I never fathomed it would get any better. However, that all changed after meeting Dr. Watkins. In our last visit, Mayer jumped out of the car and willfully walked right through the front door. Granted, it still took a bit of effort to get him into one of the examination rooms but he perked right up as soon as Dr. Watkins walked in. Dr. Watkins has earned Mayer’s trust and I couldn’t be more pleased. Additionally, she is VERY thorough. Dr. Watkins caught a tumor on Mayer’s leg that had been there for years and she immediately recommended that it be removed. I have complete and total trust in her ability to care for Mayer. Also, I am pleased with the changes I’ve noticed in regards to service. Dr. Hill’s practice was always rather small so I often prepared myself for a 30 minute wait (or longer) upon arriving for my appointment. However, over the last couple of months I have never had to wait more than 5 – 10 minutes upon arriving. The new staff seems to be better organized and more prepared for appointments. I even had to schedule an emergency visit one afternoon for my dog Mayer (who ripped out some of his stitches) and they were ready for him as soon as we walked through the door. Words cannot describe how wonderful it is to have a vet that values my time. In closing, I would highly recommend Hillcrest Animal Hospital to anyone who wants the best care for their pets. Dr. Mayer and her staff have truly earned my trust and my repeat business!
