We love Van Crest Animal Hospital, and recommend them to everyone who asks. Other the last six years, The Drs. Chambers have helped our pups through everything from tooth extractions to dermatitis to Parvo. They are extremely knowledgeable, and are always up-front about risks and costs (the most troubling aspects of treating a pet). The whole staff is friendly, and we board our pups at least three times a year, and I always feel comfortable and confident about leaving them in their care.
The Doctors and vet tecs were extremly helpful! The doctors explained to us our pups situation, and gave us the options to best approach the illness. In the end we decided the best option would be to put our dog to rest. The staff at Van Crest helped us every step of the way. I would highly recommend taking your pet to Van Crest Animal Hospital!
We came to Van Crest for a 2nd opinion, after being told the jaundiced stray-we'd-been-feeding urgently required a $1400 blood transfusion (non-curative) elsewhere. Since then, that stray has become a bonafide house cat, and we've used Van Crest for overnight veterinary care, follow-ups, and boarding. They are EXCELLENT. We know we have them to thank for saving our new pet, since a blood transfusion likely would have stressed his body beyond recovery and the other vet's diagnosis was really off-track. The prices at Van Crest have been absolutely reasonable, and Dr. Chambers is very thorough AND careful. He has always taken time to explain things, even following-up on his day off when he knew we were worried. My husband's immediate observation: Van Crest's facilities are much cleaner than other clinics we've visited. It's apparent, upon walking in, but most importantly in the exam rooms, too. With two other cats, we've been to several vets in town, and that alone would be worth recommendation, but the staff at Van Crest is also genuine, friendly, helpful & professional. (Instead of loud, distracted or brusque... and they have never once tried to pressure us or seemed impatient with requests and questions.) They handled our nervous pet-to-be very gently and offered to clean his carrier while we were waiting. // More specifically: Dr. Chambers' explanation of the symptoms was that a common infection led to anemia, which stressed the liver, producing jaundice. Since the treatment was inexpensive AND there would be no adverse side-effects, we agreed to put our cat on that program while we awaited test results. Our cat responded immediately, and the test results soon confirmed it. However, Dr. Chambers had been careful not to get our hopes up prematurely, and qualified his statements. He told us how we could proceed if he his theory wasn't right, which we really appreciated. The little stray is now one of our beloved house cats thanks to Van Crest, and they have become our favorite provider. The total of all tests, treatments and services has not nearly approached $1400, and we're happy to recommend them. Each time we're there, we see mostly dog owners, with dogs of all ages and breeds, and everyone is well-received and seems happy to be seen. The staff is great--I'd name names but they're all wonderful so there's no need. We feel really blessed to have found such excellent veterinary care, just in time. 5 stars, all the way. They're wonderful!
first Dr. C---thank you-you were extremely good with my cat Arlo-you kept me well informed and genuinely cared about my cat. Thanks also to Adam-very personable. I suggest Van Crest Hospital to anyone that needs a vet-first class service and a very clean facility.
They are the sweetest people everytime I go there with my little Pomeranian they remember her and are always happy to see us. I have been to a couple other places and they just treated her like she was just some animal and not a part of my family. But these people really do care and have no problem spending the extra time petting her and showing that they care. So if you are like I used to be worried and looking for a good vet I HIGHLY reccomend you atLEAST try them out and you will see what I see.
