I just moved to Chattanooga and had an emergency with my dog. The vet that saw my dog indicated, with a copy of the X-ray, that our dog had a one centimeter obstruction and he needed immediate surgery - $1200. I told the Vet that I would wait, for something that small, for 24 hours - as I grew up on a farm and knew from dealing with animals that a wet nose and activity is a pretty good indicator. The Vet then told me that he would schedule a follow-up and that we "needed to discuss what we were going to do in the next 36 hours" as if we were going to have to decide between Euthanasia and surgery. I challenged the Vet on his statement, and asked him if that is what he meant - and he said yes. I then took my dog to his old vet in Atlanta, who looked at the X-ray from Chattanooga, took more X-rays to be sure, and then figured out my dog had a BACTERIAL INFECTION and said that surgery should have never been considered. There was nothing on the X-ray I received from the Chattanooga vet or the X-rays the Atlanta Vet took. I have not found a suitable vet in Chattanooga, but I will never take my dog back to this vet, ever.
