East Ridge Animal Hospital is the best. They offer a wide range of services including grooming (at a very resonable price) that includes teeth brushing and nail clipping. Also, boarding of pets, house visits, accupuncture. - great Doctors !
I have used East Ridge Animal Hospital for a long time. I have seen all 4 of the very qualified VDM's. I just recently visited them because Miko had a problem with his right rear legg. Karen referred me to a Orthopedic Specialists in Birmingham for possible surgery. Every one of the Doctors have given my pets the very best of care possible. I value them just like I do my personal primary care physician and would use no other animal care hospital. I can and have referred people to their practice. Update: The surgeon in Birmingham that Karen referred me to is fantastic. His name I Doctor Milton. He replaced Miko's right read knee and within 3 months Miko was as new as ever. Thanks goes out to East Ridge Animal Hospital and Karen for getting me in touch with Dr. Milton in Birmingham, Al. Tom McCallie
These are the best vets in town. We really love them. They take care of all four of our babies. It something different with each of them and they are always there to help solve the problem. We would've been lost these last eight years without them. Thanks for the being the best at what you do. Plus they care about what they do which makes the visit even better.
East Ridge Animal Hospital may have decent Vets..but I cannot say the same for the staff. The staff at an animal hospital is just as important when it comes to the quality of care for your pet!! We have boarded with this animal hospital several times and each time the experience has gotten worse. There seems to be an issue with staff not knowing the instructions or wishes for the pets staying there. We always get asked what we're bringing our pets in for, which is good if they're checking it against the list they should already have..but it seems they honestly don't know. We'll be told "it's all written down right here!" and yet we get a call a day later saying the pets need their vaccines and "we can't do anything until we hear from you about this!". I have to call and explain that we already told them twice what they were there for! On top of the lack of organization, the current staff that cares for the boarders there was apparently late to work and our pets weren't even taken out to use the bathroom before we picked them up. He just brought them out and one of them urinated all over the place like he'd been holding it forever :(. It was sad!! They have 0 runs available so all animals are put in cages and that should mean that quite a lot of the dogs will need walking daily. I worked in boarder care for years when I was younger, I wanted the experience of working in an animal hospital for my career. I know how the animals should be cared for so do yourself a favor and check out the facilities and ask how about the routine, feeding, walking, etc. They do offer a daily text/e-mail message with an update now, so that's an improvement. I will say that for the most part, our animals have received decent examinations/visits. One of our pups received a bad vaccine and almost died, we had to take him to the emergency clinic and it was touch and go. We received a refund for the vaccine but we've been paranoid ever since. I don't blame the Vet for the bad vaccine but it was just a scary experience. They are an expensive clinic so be prepared to pay on the high end for services.
I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Karen Knarr and her staff. They have always treated my furry children with love and compassion. I appreciate that Dr. Knarr takes a holistic approach to my animal's health. I took one of my Saints to see her for acupuncture and was able to spend another year with her. She was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and she could not even stand until she started seeing Dr. Knarr. I then took my puppy to East Ridge Animal Hospital and everyone here spoiled her rotten. I could not ask for a better doctor or staff.
