Our sweet dog Ella was extremely ill so we took her to the River for help. The staff was quick and courteous in the diagnosis of the problem. She had many serious effects that had to be treated while determining the cause for her problems. After several days of wonderful care and treatment Liver Cancer was determined the cause for her sickness. We visited her often while at the hospital and the doctors and staff were always so kind and accommodating. We were unable to bring her home with us and even through our tremendous pain and grief the staff was overly kind, courteous and understanding. We lost a part of our family and grieve still for she is greatly missed. The care and handling of both Ella and ourselves in this difficult time was Excellent. I would never hesitate to call upon the great team at the River on Amnicola Hwy.
i found a cat today that had been ran over by a train. his back legs from the thigh/ knee join was cut off. they told me they had to put him down because he would not survive his injuries which is bull crap. the lady that told me this had a grin on her face which got me very mad but i didnt not say anything and i wish i would have now. the more i think about it the more mad and disappointed i get. all that needed to be done was put him to sleep shave his legs clean the wounds dig out any fragmented bone sew it up bandage it up give him antibiotics and wait. they put him to death for free because i could not pay for anything but damn. if you become a vet to help animals HELP ANIMALS. this leads me to believe they dont give a dang about animals and only money. even more so after ive read the other reviews. i gave 2 stars just because they didnt charge me for them doing something but that still does not change the fact i think they are greedy a holes. he was a pretty cat, white with very very light brown which you could not really see unless you looked hard. tail and ears faded from white to light gray with blue eyes. he was still a kitten probably a "teenager" also as i sat there waiting for my pet taxi after they told me they were going to kill the little guy some lady and her son brought in a little dog and said it had ate 2 little pieces of chocolate. that lady started grinning from ear to ear as well. i assume she knew they were about to rob those people. i know its not good for animals to eat chocolate but i bet that vet knew it would not hurt the dog either and was going to milk the poop out of them. i'll not go there ever again and would recommend you stay away from it if you can. and also if you need an animal spayed or neutered check out wally and friends, they charge 40 or 50$ and that includes shots. there is nothing anywhere as cheap. if you need a good vet that DOES care check out shallowford animal hospital tell em timmy the cat sent you. thats the best vet ive found. if you cant afford to pay the bill they will work out a payment plan. the people there were nice friendly caring. they were just flat out good people that cared about my cat timmy. seriously check out wally and friends for neutering and spaying. check out shallowford animal hospital for everything else. stay away from this river side con crap unless you just really have to go there. i had to because its the weekend and everything was closed when i found the poor little cat. he didnt deserver to die man he would of been ok if you guys gave a rats arse. if you could of fixed him. i would of took him in and built him some legs or a wheel chair and paint them up so nice with designs. i would of named him hot rod. i could of even sent a little money once a week or month but no you told me with a stupid grin on your stupid face that he would not survive. you and me both know he would of made it. i hope some day karma gets you guys for the things you do and the way you handle situations.
Had a not-so-great experience at RIVER Animal Hospital last night in Chattanooga. My kitty had been missing for 2 days and when we found her she had dark transmission fluid on her mouth and legs. We finally found this place to take her to after hours and get there at 8:45pm. After waiting forever and my little baby suffering back there with them and them doing nothing productive to help her, they try and tell me that the brown, oily smelling stuff on her was actually bodily fluids--maybe-- but they really didn't know and that she was dehydrated. DUH--she drank transmission fluid! I took her there because I thought that they could give her some fluids and an antibiotic or something to get it out of her system. Instead, they perform all of these tests on her ($$$) before they even gave me the estimate that I ASKED for (these were unnecessary tests that really shouldn't have applied to her considering her symptoms: FIV, feline leukemia etc) After waiting for even longer, they try and tell me that she needed to stay over night and be admitted to their hospital ($$$$) and that she was seriously ill. Every time I tried to ask questions the doctor acted dumbfounded and stumbled around offering still more tests. At this point, I know I'm already out at least a couple hundred dollars so I tell her that I will just take my cat home with some antibiotics and I will give her fluids my self (unflavored pedialite and soft food works great). She scrambled around because she knew she wouldn't get more money out of me and went ahead and charged me more for THEM to give her fluid injections. Now I know how they could afford the leather couches, snacks, and keurig in the waiting room. We finally got home around 1:30am. Now I'm $366 less when all I needed was antibiotics and for them to tell me my cat wasn't dying (this would have been one stinkin' blood test) My cat is doing better now, no hospital
Took our dog in because of possible food poisoning and sat there for two hours and never saw a dr. So we left. I did see any dogs in the lobby. I wonder if being an interracial couple had anything to do with us not being seen?
