I thought that Animal Medical Clinic PC was the right place to take my pet.Especially because Dr. Reynolds is my father. When I took my cat there they knew what was wrong, and really helped her feel better. It is a great Animal Hospital, and I, (his son) guarantee it.

* BAD -Takes advantage of customers, Bad treatment of customer and animal! * Brought our puppy in, they made me meet them around back at the back door..and wait over 10 minutes outside (seriously..) then took me and the puppy into a supply room with mops and buckets and cleaning supplies and a table instead of a real examination room. Things only got worse from there.. Took my $ from me and did the test, gave pup anti-diarrhea med and sent us on our way with advice of "Gatorade and a prayer, nothing else can be done. Sorry." Went to another vet (Copeland in Cookeville) for a second opinion and what "Animal Medical Clinic" said/did turned out to be VERY untrue. The other vet helped us GREATLY, gave our puppy SUB Q Fliuds, Antibiotics, Pain Medication, and Stomach Medication too all for about the same cost..and continued to call us and give us advice daily, check on our pup, and oh yes they used an ACTUAL real animal examination room to see us in (instead of a storage room with mops and whatnot) and treated us with care. Our puppies are 100% better now due to our decision to seek care somewhere else(who cared enough for the same amount of $ to actually help, rather than advise "Gatorade and prayer" and dismiss the pup), and I recommend anyone else who cares about their pet do the same. * Tried to resolve with clinic before leaving this review * I called DR. Reynolds' office to ask him if what we experienced was normal treatment of a customer/animal..(figuring he would be unhappy to find out about what happened) and that maybe he would make sure it didn't happen again. He cursed and yelled at us over it, and said we were not welcome back again for questioning him/his office (I was astounded). He said we "just wanted something for nothing" (even after telling him we didn't want any refund at all, just wanted to advise him of our experience). He proceeded to yell at us some more about how people should vaccinate their pets(our dogs are) and don't take them there if they don't like the way they treat them, and then hung up. Never going back again, and anyone who considers using this place please be forewarned.

I have known Dr. Reynolds since he retired from the Army and came to Cookeville. I have known him to be extremely knowledgeable, particularly in matters of surgery. For POWMIA...you dog may have had tiny "seed" ticks on them and while they were under anesthesia and not scratching, the ticks would enlarge tremendously...I've seen it on my own animals..see nothing, dog goes to sleep, wakes up and suddenly big ticks present..run to get tick medicine. I understand Dr. Reynold's son-in-law is now there and maybe he hasn't gained all the experience dealing with the public that Dr. R has, but give him time...he has a good mentor there.

We have had four dogs, a stray cat that adopted us, and two of our neighbors dogs (which they do not care for, either physically or emotionally) that we take to Dr. Reynolds. We think he is knowledgeable, involves the animal's owners in the discussion and decision, does not rush to use the most expensive, newest drug IF the older, less expensive one works as well (AND he knows why that is the case). We recommend Dr. Reynolds highly.
