A little pricier on some things, but you pay for the expertise you get. For simple shots, etc. it's OK to go somewhere else, but for anything more complex, I prefer take my animals here, and I have tried many vets. They will give it to you STRAIGHT, will explain things in detail, are compassionate, and will NOT run your pet through unnecessary diagnostics just to rack up $$ at your, and your pet's, expense. Very helpful and respectful, and understanding in stressful and sad moments. Also, they won't talk down to you, which is greatly appreciated. Bottom line: the vets at this practice are not just animal doctors: they are animal lovers, and they do what's best for the animal, not for their pockets. Too bad they can't treat PEOPLE, because I would go HERE.

My friends who are homeless and jobless had a puppy get run over by a car and had his leg broken. Copeland charged $1000 for the surgery and wanted their money up front of they were going to put him down. MANY phone calls were made and finally someone said they would pay the bill. In the meantime we found out that the EXACT SAME SURGERY was HALF the price one town over. The puppy had been there two days already and when we called to say we would like to take him where the price of the surgery is cheaper they said it would cost us $500 for the two days that he had been there. They KNEW the owners were homeless and jobless and just wanted to save their baby!!!!!! YOU SUCK COPELAND VETERINARY CLINIC!!!!!!! You are in it for the money and that is it. Shame on you and I am going to tell everyone that we know and anyone who will listen NOT to take your dog to Copeland Veterinary Clinic in Cookeville, TN.

I absolutely love this place! Dr. Barker, yes Barker! is a gem! I have taken both my dogs here for various things, and they have always been wonderful. The assistants are very nice, and they show that they really care about your small family members (pets), the prices are reasonable, and their rates for bathing are the lowest around...they do the washing, ears and nails for cheaper than I could get MY nails done! I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone!

Since moving to the Plateau in 2005 we have been fortunate in having ten homeless cats and dogs find their way to our home. Several were in rough shape. With the required isolations, initial treatments, emergency circumstances and so on we have also had the pleasure of visiting nearly every Veterinary practice in the area. The four Doctors at Copeland possess distinct skill sets and their diagnostics are first rate. The Vet Techs are first rate and the Front Desk is professionally patient with people. My experience leads me to say that in my opinion Copeland Veterinary Hospital is easily, "Best in the Region."

The Veterinarians at Copeland's are the BEST! Dr. Cottrell saved my dog Jake's life about one and half years ago. If it was not for her and her expertise, and compassion, my husband and I would have had to put him down to prevent him from suffering. After thousands of dollars and no answers from another vet, one visit here ,bw, and daily meds and he is a happy, healthy dog. Thank you to Dr. Copeland and his entire staff. Never will go anywhere else.
