It is impossible for my wife and I to truly put into words just what Dr. Heartsill & her entire staff mean to our family. Having only lived in Memphis for 3 years, we do not have a terribly long history with DAH...but in that time, Susanne has gracefully & professionally guided us through what seems like a countless number of medical hurdles with our pets. Whether it's been a routine checkup, an emergency visit due to a broken leg or ongoing consultation & cancer treatments, Dr. Heartsill has always been extremely thorough, cutting edge and aggressive with treatment & has shown unrivaled compassion for both us and our pets. As long as we continue to live within driving distance of Memphis, we will never consider taking our dog anywhere but to DAH, and we aren't shy at all about encouraging all of our pet-owning friends to do the same!

Missed diagnoses, and I've heard there have been many. Vet was arrogant, dismissive, inattentive, unprofessional, and two-faced (overheard her making fun of other customers with staff). Very expensive for level of care. Seems there is much cronyism going on with reviews below, too.

I LOVE Dr.Heartsill. We have a 7 yr old Lab. We came to her based on 3 other great recommendations. Our Lab was misdiagnosed at another vet office about his cancer. I spoke with Dr. Heartsill about the issue and before I had ever paid a penny she had contacted the lab and read the cancer result and gave us her suggestions. She then performed his surgery and called to check on him everyday that weekend and every week thereafter. One day his stitches seemed odd and she said to text her a picture to see what was going on. I can't describe how much she showed that she cared, It is wonderful to have her support and compassion. I had a friend whose dog had a weird spot on his gums and I took a picture and text to Dr.Heartsill and she immediately responded with her thoughts and suggestions. I am so thankful to have a vet who is genuinely concerned. Another time my dog had played ball too long and his hips/knees were very sore. I had never seen my dog hurt like this and it scared me so I text Dr. Heartsill and she then called right away (weekend and from her home). She gave me recommendations and even check on him the next day. The fact that she goes above and beyond, sits on the floor and loves on our dog, and recommends/ treats as if it were her own animal are all the reasons I recommend Dr. Heartsill as your vet.

I love Downtown Animal Hospital!!! DAH has cared for my pet for many years. The staff is absolutely TOP NOTCH! Over the years, my dog has developed several ailments, including dementia. Dr. Heartsill has worked tirelessly to ensure that she is well taken care of and comfortable. She is aggressive, and will not stop until all possible treatment options are explored. More importantly, she has taken the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. I would suggest that any pet lover in the downtown area go here.

Well, I'm a Bulldog and if anyone knows vets it's me. I have had about a zillion issues and have always been treated with lots of love- not like my last vet who treated me like a number. Even though i'm a bit wild when i'm in the waiting room, the staff laughs at me and comes out and gives me kisses if they're not busy. My parents feel like Dr. Heartsill is super thorough and never makes them feel stupid for asking lots of questions and being worriers. She has always made herself available to us. The desk staff and techs are great too! Thanks, Dr. Heartsill, for all you do. I wouldn't go anywhere else! GA
