I boarded my cat there and they promised to keep her separate from the dogs, but they did not. I came back after a 4 day trip to find her right next to a dog and petrified and noticeably thinner. It took weeks to return her to normalcy as she was beyond stressed. While many pet owners have dogs and may not relate to this story the point is that they were DISHONEST and if they lied about this to me imagine what else they may be omitting the truth about. Our pets deserve better and I would not board my loving friend here anymore.
No appointment, no drop-off. You walk in and wait. Price is slightly lower than a few other places that I have been to. The vaccination package prices listed on their web site does not include $50 doctor visit, which they add to wellness checkup implicitly (like other places).
We had never been to Petvax before, but my wife and I had an emergency with one of our dogs, so rushed to the nearest vet office. We arrived a few minutes before closing, and the staff at this facility was amazing. They rushed to help us right when we came in the door. The office manager Terry was so compassionate and caring, she even called us the day after the event to check up on us. We will be using this Petvax location from now on.
I have been using PetVax for a couple of years now, and I honestly don't know why. The staff is a joke. I took my dog in to find out why he is relentlessly scratching his ear. His ear looks really bad, but PetVax said they didn't know what was going on. Then they charged me almost $90 and gave me a steroid to apply (which did nothing). 3 months later and his ear is still gross looking. Today I went in to get my 3 dogs monthly heart worm medicine. The new receptionist struggled to get me the correct dose of medicine (took her 20 minutes!) Finally, got the medicine and gave her my credit card to pay. Since the lady I was talking to was new, she needed assistance running my card (which was fine with me). Their credit card machine was down, so they used the old school swipey clicky thingy (no problem there). Then the lady hands me back my card and says I'm sorry (I then notice that she destroyed my debit card!!!!). She proceeded to tell me that there was nothing she could do about it and continued to charge me $18.50 for the heart worm medicine. I asked her if she would make it free this time for mangling my card. She said "absolutely not" and walked away. The new girl just sat there looking at me with this stupid smirk on her face. Needless to say, I am done with them.
I sadly trusted in the vet care I was getting for my dogs for several years at Pet Vax in Bartlett. My dog was misdiagnosed the beginning of Dec. 2012 at Pet Vax and as a result my dog suffered and was put down the very next day at Pet Med ER Center in Cordova. I have physically gone back to Pet Vax and called them on the phone only to get the run around. I had another vet at Shelby Center Hospital for Animals (excellent care) ,who originally put my dog down, view the x-ray taken at Pet Vax and he most certainly did not come up with the same conclusion as Dr. Worley at Pet Vax. Dr. Morse at Shelby Center Hospital has tried to contact Pet Vax several times at my request only to be put on hold indefinitely where no one ever picked up (this happened 2x) and then left a msg for Dr. Worley to call him which she "never got the msg". Gee, imagine that! I can only assume their lack of response just goes to prove they simply do not care....I did tell the office manager that for them to put another veterinarian, Dr. Morse, on hold indefinitely was rude and highly unprofessional for Pet Vax. She claimed she had not and would not ever do such a thing, but obviously some other employees at Pet Vax do not share her personal ethics. It's hard enough to lose my beloved dog without the seemingly careless attitude of Pet Vax. Oh, by the way, they grossly overcharge for Advantage Multi. They charged me $30 more than Shelby Center Hospital. I just happened to ask to compare while there at Shelby Center.....I felt like I had been lied to b/c the whole reason Pet Vax was "created" was so people could afford the vaccinations and meds for their pets....Well, I guess not, folks. In short if you have a sick dog don't stop at Pet Vax wasting your dog's well being, your time and your money.
