I do not recommend Value Vet at all and simply cannot recommend Value Vet or the veterinarians that work here due to their incompetence. I feel that this statement holds validity after interacting with these veterinarians in person and talking to them on the phone spanning 3-4 visits . I adopted a 4 month old kitten who was born with a crimped ear and had gotten over an upper respiratory infection before bringing him home from the humane society. Feline herpes was suspected. I took him in for a check-up after adopting him although he had already received a clean bill of health from the humane society's private vet. He had also already received all vaccines, etc. I only took him to Value Vet because I was in the process of looking for a new vet, which thankfully, I have found -- and she is wonderful, but I wish I would have found her before my kitten died (Dr. Jackie Jones at Premier Vet Care in Smyrna). When calling Value Vet, you always have to talk to someone in their "call center" first which is at a different location that the Value Vet you are trying to reach. You can never call and ask a vet or even a vet tech a question if you have one. I felt like I was at an express oil change place instead of a vet clinic. It feels like there is a sales pitch going on, a pressure to "meet their numbers", and they take the fur baby out of the room for everything they may do to him, even if it's just swabbing his ears. Unfortunately I lost my kitten due to an aggressive illness, which I feel Value Vet's veterinarians failed to treat correctly. They did not prescribe an antibiotic for him. After discussing his case with an emergency vet, I was told that an antiobiotic should have been prescribed. I am deeply saddened that my kitten didn't get the appropriate treatment. He deserved so much more than "Value Vet" could offer, but sadly, I didn't know this until it was too late. I spoke to the vet from Value Vet who treated him and voiced my concerns in my kitten's last days about how he was progressing and he offered no helpful suggestions. I had to take my kitten to the emergency vet less than 24 hours later, where he had to be euthanized. It was heartbreaking and I am really wracked with guilt that I ever took my kitten to this sorry excuse of a vet clinic. I think Value Vet is fine for basic things like vaccines, but if your animal has any special needs or is sick, take them to a veterinarian who will take the time with your animal and with you. This is the shortened version of my kitten's story, as I can't possibly go into all the details here, but it was a horrible experience. As a last note, I must point out something that deeply disturbs me - my kitten also had ulcers in his mouth due to the suspected feline herpes. One vet assistant needed help with drawing blood (It upset me that she was drawing blood instead of the actual veterinarian, and in fact, the veterinarian was nowhere in sight while blood was being drawn by the assistant or vet tech, which seems highly inappropriate). Another vet assistant was grabbing his little face and causing him great pain because of this while they were trying to draw blood. They both knew that he had ulcers in his mouth, but the idiots failed to realize that maybe he was screaming in pain because she was grabbing his mouth which had painful ulcers in it (while blood was being drawn, no less)! This angers me and hurts me inside to know he was being caused such horrific pain in his last days by these incompetent morons. I told her to stop doing that because he has ulcers in his mouth. He was crying in pain while this was going on. I don't normally write reviews, but I can honestly say without a doubt... that I am disgusted with this vet clinic and their incompetent staff. I am so sorry to my kitten (rest in peace) that I took him here. I wrote this review because I don't want one more animal going through what my kitten went through here or not being given the proper treatment due to incompetent veterinarians.

Took a stray cat here to have her fixed (and we kept her), and they did an excellent job with everything and I wouldn't hesitate to take any animal there. The staff is very professional and friendly, and the facility is extremely nice.
