Okay, I'm VERY particular about my dogs! I had only left them with our vet in the past since I'm a nervous Nelly. The 1st time I left my boy at Smoky Mountain Pet Resort was approx. a year ago when we were cabin shopping. The staff was so kind, listened to my concerns and obviously took great care of him. A few weeks ago I left 2 dogs. I realize they keep records, but I felt they really remembered my dog! I plan to leave them again next weekend and again and again in the future. Just as one reviewer below mentioned, they also told me things about my dog that only someone who took time to observe would notice. Oh, and by the way, the facility was clean and reasonably priced too.
Ii really liked this kennel. It was my first time leaving my baby with strangers, they were super friendly and handled my apprehensiveness very well. It was clean. They let my lucy room with my brother-in-law's dog with a reduced payment. We were aloud, even encouraged to call anytime and visit every day. Both dogs had access inside and out, which i believe is what the person below is complaining about but i can say that in my picky opinion it was safe for them. I was very nervous leaving my dog and this place gave me confidence in kennels.I recently moved to Okinawa Japan and when my vet couldn't help me with faxing her shot record i called uponSsmoky Mtn. Pet Resort and they helped me. I would recomend them to anybody!
We needed last minute kenneling while vacationing here during Memorial Day and they had space available. Very friendly staff and clean facilities. It is obvious they spent time with our dog, even during the holiday weekend, as they told us things about him you would only find out if your were with him. The groomer also did a very nice job. We will definitely use them again when we are in the area.
The facility was very clean and the staff was very friendly. However, when we went to pick up our dogs they were in an outside kennel with NO water. There was a full bowl of water in the play area next to theirs and a hose not even five feet away! We stopped at a creek at the bottom of the hill leaving the resort to let the dogs out, and they ran into the creek and started gulping water for a while. Clearly they were very thirsty although the staff said they had only been without water for about 30 minutes. I would have loved to have been able to give this place five stars because of everything else, but water is basic and essential to our beloved dogs' well being.
I have not used the resort however I live nearby and want to warn people that they leave dogs outside all night and they bark all night and are unattended during that time. I don't know much about boarding dogs but I do not feel that that is safe. I would not want my dog left outside all night with noone there to check on the barking regardless of whether it is fenced in or not.
