I went to Dr. Van Winkle for several years for acupuncture and chiropractic for my dogs before switching to her for all my veterinary needs. I am so happy I made the switch. Dr. VW, Dr. Unflat, Dr. Hughes and all of the staff are wonderful. And like another reviewer posted, prices are very reasonable. 5 stars in my book!

I have been going to Barton Creek Animal Clinic for nearly 20 years. Dr. Van Winkle is extremely knowledgeable, explains everything very thoroughly, and is extremely kind and caring. She also has expertise in alternative pet health care like acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Dr. Unflat, who has been at the clinic for the last few years, is also very knowledgeable, caring, and an all-around nice guy. He is always willing to take extra time to explain anything and to talk about his experience. The vets often consult with each other, as well as other vets, and also go the extra mile and do research. The staff here is also great, and some have been here almost as long as I have been coming here. Jessica is always helpful in making sure that everything runs smoothly and has often helped me with appointments when scheduling is a challenge, Zach and Rachel are great with my cats, friendly, and always show concern. Other vet techs who have been here in the past have also been fantastic, which I think says a lot about Barton Creek Animal Clinic. I have gone to other clinics (backups in emergencies) over the years, and I always realize how fortunate I am to have BCAC as my primary clinic. I can't recommend them highly enough!!

When in exam room was petting my dog and Dr. Van Winkle snapped to the effect of "there are other patients waiting in line to see me and we can control your dog". Then she was aggressive with my gentle well behaved service dog causing him to jerk around the table to the point she had to let him down. They then muzzled my service dog for the first time in his life! which was totally unnecessary if she would have treated him right. No telling what germs were on the muzzle. My dog sensed her anger and was afraid of her. Van Winkle has anger management issues that completely override all other positive aspects and is unacceptable. People with anger management issues should NOT be vets! even if they are competent in other aspects which she is. Do not take your dog to some woman who can snap in an instant without warning. Now my dog may have fear issues the next time he goes to a vet.

I take my 17 year old dog and 19 year old cat to Barton Creek, and have ever since I adopted them. Dr. Van Winkle and Dr. Unflat are wonderful vets. I especially appreciate the time they take to explain exactly what's going on with my pets and what all of the treatment options are.

Knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Some vets prescribe expensive testing before making a diagnosis, but this clinic doesn't have than mindset. We've switched all or our business to this vet.
