This veterinarian has ripped me off several times. He overcharges for medications, and often only carries the more expensive injections as opposed to cheaper oral medications. In addition, he refuses to approve prescriptions from online vendors such as PetMeds. If his grossly high prices are not enough, he asks offensive and strange personal questions, including if I give money to my mother and how much money I make. He then made a snide comment at checkout about taking that money from me. $180 for some anti-diarrheal meds for a cat. In short, you will be much happier and more satisfied with another veterinarian.

We started going to Dr. Spellman in 1997 with my poodle and spitz. They have long since passed, but we continue to go to North Lamar Vet with our new dogs, a chow/corgi and our little chihuahuas. He has always given our dogs the best care possible. #12DaysofChristmasATX

Not only was I treated like a second class citizen at this veterinary clinic, the charges were exorbitantly high. We paid over a hundred dollars for basic procedures. He did not give us pain medication for our cat after her spay, and she was noticeably in pain. In fact, all of his practices seem outdated and unsafe. If you want to pay a large sum to be treated like an idiot, asked prying questions, and then expected to fork over a large sum for a small procedure, visit this guy.

Dr. Spellman was great. I was in and out in 20 minutes. He didn't try to upsell me or waste my time. He was up front about his recommendation and I took it. He took my cat's temperature, saw a 103 fever, gave a shot of steroids and antibiotics, and done.

Dr. Spellman is very professional and we are very pleased with his service to, and compassion for, our Cat. Overall, an excellent choice and visit today. We'll be back!
