I sure regretted to bring my dog here for emergency care. It was $290 for an ear wound care treatment (3 hours wait). My dog was given a pain shot, 7 days of antibiotic & pain medication. The vet told us to keep the bandage on for 2 days then schedule her to see our vet to check on the wound. But the bandage keeps falling off after the next day. I called back the next evening to see if they can help to re-wrap the bandage if I bring my dog back. The clinic manager said that we will be charge for the bandage material ($30 to $40) but NOT the emergency exam fee ($98.80). I was so furious and demand for some kind of resolution. Then after a long hold, she said that the vet said it will be okay not to keep the bandage on if it’s no longer actively bleeding. It is unbelievable how this clinic treat pet owners. I should have done more research and read the reviews before I took my dog here. I vow NOT to use their service ever again.

My cat became very ill one night, and we took him in at about 1 a.m. He was near death due to a urinary tract blockage. The staff was helpful, caring, and did all they could to keep costs to a minimum. They took excellent care of Jet, and we transferred him to our regular vet later that morning, where he ended up staying for a week. If it weren't for the NTEPC, I would have lost my Jet that night.

Short answer: do NOT go here unless you believe your pet is going to die in the next 10 minutes. Long answer: Overall, this vet was ok. The staff and doctors are actually really nice people. However, unless you seriously think your pet will die in the next 15 minutes, go to the Flower Mound emergency vet. Example: we waited 2 hours and this was just a tuesday. We arrived at 8:40 because my pet was gagging with something stuck in her throat. She wasnt in distress but clearly uncomfortable (my last dog was 2yrs old and passed away from choking on a bone so we are a little freaked out over the new puppy) It became 930 and we asked to see a doctor to which they sent in a nurse. Then, it got to be 1015 and we complained about the wait again. The nurse left the room and came back and said they were going to take my dog to the back to a room. To which we said "what will taking her to the back do?" and the nurse said "oh the front desk told me you wanted her to the back" to which we replied "no we want the doctor to see her. this is ridiculous" another 15 minutes later the doctor finally came in. She was nice and looked at my dog. However, she then recommended some antibiotics and a bunch of medication my dog did not need immediately and that I was not going to pay for. Im sure this vet will take pets in dire need; however if you think you have enough time, I suggest driving to the flower mound emergency vet.

My recommendation is you find another emergency center to take your animal to. The clinic is very busy and the priority the DMVS (Vets) put in the examination of the animals is neglectful, unprofessional and unacceptable. This is my first review I have ever written and I feel strongly about it. I arrived at 7pm with my 15 year old Border Collie X Cleo, who had been vomiting for 24 hours, lethargic to the point of not walking and had to be carried. She had been unable to keep down fluids and was extremely weak. The technician took her back immediately after check in and I was told that I could not go back in the examination area. Her name was placed on an ER white board with the others in order and time the animals checked in. I watched for 2 1/2 hours as animals that checked in shortly and well after my check in time came and went. At the 2-hour mark I inquired as to what was the status with my old girl. I was assured that she was next in line and she was resting comfortable. Please keep in mind of course she is resting comfortable she is too ill to move. It was also explained to me that other animals with a greater need go first regardless of the order at the time of check in. I get that and would also want that for my animals if it where the case, but do not tell me that several animals arriving after mine all had a greater need. For example one of the greater need cases was a puppy who's owner had stepped on her foot and she just wanted to make sure her puppy was okay. With three remaining animals on the board as I mentioned earlier I was assured that Cleo was next in line. I proceeded to watch both vets come out and take the other two animals on the board with Cleo as the last name standing. Apparently she was not next in line ... if you are still with me this far this is the real kicker. Going on the 3-hour mark I asked the front office to bring Cleo back up front and I would take her somewhere else. Upon bringing her back up front, which she had to be carried, I realize in her almost 3 hours in the back room no examination or assessment had been performed with the exception of her blood pressure was good. The front office staff is very friendly and helpful along with the two intake technicians. The front office staff where proactive and phoned and provided me with another Emergency Clinic - Flower Mound Emergency Pet Clinic that had a shorter wait time. They also assured me that the examination fee I paid up front - would be honored at the Flower Mound Location and it was. The technician carried my old girl out to the car and ensured she was comfortable. Who I hold responsible for this sheer neglect is the two DMVS working the clinic. During the time I was checking Cleo out of the clinic the DMV that was apparently no longer busy with critical care came out to the front desk, offered no acknowledgment, explanation or concern for my animal. I would have let this all go if it were not for the arrogance and display of indifference. Cleo and I arrived at Flower Mound Emergency Pet Clinic. The DMV we saw was Julie Petre. She had the old girl's blood work, couple shots to stabilize her and rehydration shot completed in 45 minutes. With the assurance this will get us through the night. We arrived home at 12:15am This morning the old girl is sleeping at my feet, I listen to her deep breathing as we wait to see DMV Jerry Ford at the North Dallas Veterinary Hospital. I know our wait will not be long and he will as he always does greet her with care and compassion. Moral of the story go the extra 20 mins to find a different clinic. Noticing a lot of bad reviews but we have always received the best of care for our pets. One stayed in the hospital for several days and every time we called for an update or if we could come visit, we always received timely answers. Estimates were given for each treatment option and updated at each new piece of information. The relationship with the Specialty Care Clinic next door makes the 24/7 package deal of amazing treatment and loving care for the 4-legged family members.
