I originally took my dog to Wellborn Rd. clinic off of rock prairie rd in college station. They had a nice facility, however the doctor who saw my dog could not diagnose my dogs eye issue. She did stain the eye (not in front of me) and told me she could not find the issue. She said in plain English to just let the eye be how it is. My dogs eye had a cloudy tint on the lens which worried me. I ended up taking the dog to a second vet who ended up finding the issue (did the stain test and tear test in front of me.)

Just a warning. If you are a client and your dog has a sudden emergency during the day, and they have no OPEN appointments, you will be charged $87.50 plus whatever services are performed. I had puppies that suddenly developed bloody diarrhea and assumed they would be seen. I was informed that they had no open appointments, and I would be charged $350 before ever touching the dogs. While there were other issues, this one did it for me. Unbelievable arrogance.

DO NOT BOARD YOUR PET HERE! I have been taking my dog here for vet treatments for 5 years now and decided I would board her for one night. When I picked her up the next day she was covered in dried urine (smelled horrible) and was very dehydrated. I had to drive all the way back to Houston with her smelling horrible (windows down) and had to pull over because I could tell she was in need of water.. I have never seen her drink so much! She wouldn't stop drinking and I had to finally take the cup away so I could get back to driving. After this horrible experience with boarding I will stop using their vet services as well. I paid $111 for an annual checkup and boarding for one night and I got my dog back dying for water and covered in urine... very unacceptable.

I have been taking my dog here for nearly 2 years and just got a cat. My cat, Loki, sees Dr. McCreary and my dog, Lilly sees both Dr. Hibbits and McCreary. Thank God Loki has no serious issues since my gold retriever mutt has some serious allergy problems. I have been very impressed with how hard Dr. Hibbits and McCreary have worked to try to find a diet, heart worm and flea medication that doesn't cause my poor dog to have a serious reaction. Dr. Hibbits goes out of her way to consult other doctors (this is why Lilly also sees Dr. McCreary). She called the animal dermatologist at Texas A&M University to discuss my dogs issues. I feel like these two women really care about what is going on with your animal and try their best to get the best treatment. They also take into consideration my "i'm a poor college kid" budget. They give me tons of free samples of medicated shampoos and conditioners (which tend to get expensive). My only issue is with the receptionists. On multiply occasions I have called to discuss/ask questions about my animals, medicines, diet changes and etc and I ask to leave a note for one of Lilly's doctors and I never get a call back. When I call again slightly miffed that I have not received a call I get a quick call back from the office answering my questions. I really wish I didn't take getting mad to get answer since I love the vets that my animals have seen. Okay, my second issue (which isn't a huge deal) is that they don't have payment plans. Okay, they don't have payment plans for optional treatments. This is College Station, Texas! A college town. I tons of students that use them. It would make the student clients life so much easier if there were payment plans. I would also imagine they would get more business if they did. Overall, I will probably not leave this vet clinic until I graduate and have to go somewhere else.

I was supposed to have an appt. for my cat at 8:50am. I got to the clinic at about 8:30, and they immediately took my cat and I to the back, gave her the updates to the shots she needed, as well as a test to see if she had parasites. Turns out she had tapeworms, so they gave her a pill that will clear it right up. They were wonderful with her, and handled her very well. Very kind staff at WRVMC.
