I was recommended this place by Operation Kindness..I can honestly say that the staff was very friendly and so was the Dr. that saw the poor cat. Service was excellent and price was reasonable..they didn't gouge me and it was already 5:15pm when I got there and they were very compassionate with the cat even after I told them it was a stray. Unfortunately, poor kitty has a broken ankle and I don't know what to do. This is a stray I found but to have surg they said that most places would chrg bout $2k or they could amputate for about $200. I dunno if operation kindness will be able to take her in...does anyone know or dealt with this situation..i wish I could keep her but I dont have $2k just layin around..and to have her leg amputated sounds horrible to me. Any help would be much appreciated.

Last week my dog had some sort of neurological breakdown. She was walking sideways, having what appeared to be crippling dizziness and loss of coordination. I have been using this animal clinic for quite a few years as they are the most affordable that I can find, so naturally, I put her in the car and took her directly there for help. After the "vet" in the office that day took a quick 2 minute look at her, he determined that she needed to see another doctor. He referred me to a specialty clinic that they said could address what appeared to be a neurological problem and then charged me $25 for the referral. I didnt have a problem paying it because I thought he was doing the right thing for my precious family member. When I left his office and called the clinic he referred me to. After being treated like a complete moron and inconvenience by these people and being advised that the inital exam would cost a minimum of $250.00,, I called my trusted animal clinic back, crying and defeated, begging them to look at her again and see if there was anything they could do to help her because I simply cannot afford a $250 initial visit much less the obvious cost of any additional treatment she may require with this other doctor. My trusted vet, the one I trust with the lives of all 3 of my babies, simply REFUSED to help me saying there was nothing they could do. Imagine my pain thinking that my baby was doomed to die from some horrible illness that my vets office refused to even attempt to treat. FORTUNATELY, God has blessed me with friends who love me and my best friend, THANK YOU TINA, referred me to her vet in Alvarado, TX. Its quite the drive but I took her there with the belief that a good country vet could probably fix her up, OR ATLEAST TRY ! And guess what, HE DID ! He gave her some meds and gave me some direction and now SHE IS 80% BETTER ! Thank God there are some vets out there who treat our pets like what they are, members of our family, NOT DOGS ! I for one, will NEVER take any of my pets back to this "animal clinic". They could care less about the precious lives of our loved ones. I'd rather drive an hour to Alvarado to a vet who sees them for what they are, A VALUABLE MEMBER OF MY FAMILY.

I also agree that they are not the warm and fuzzy types of receptionists, but at least they are not fake. I have always gotten good care for my pets over the last 9 years. They don't stick it to you as most vets do... I have even seen the question ' how do you FEEL about your pet? with a multiple choice of answers, being, just a pet, a member of the family, or the closest relationship you have. Then charge you as much as they think you will bear. They treat everyone the same at Farmers Branch clinic. I like that!
