I love this animal clinic...contrary to what other people have written...what do you expect? I have been bringing Sara in since she was 8 weeks old. They have taken care of her with great love and dedication. I would not take my dog anywhere else. The prices are like no other in the metroplex. Yes, they are busy, and can be rude, but they get the job done and that is what matters. I have gone to places where the customer's service is superior and the people are as friendly as can be, but my Sara came home worse then when she went in there. So if it's courtesy that you want GO SOMEWHERE ELSE your ugly comments are neither welcomed not wanted at this facility. They are there to do their job not make you feel good!!!!!

I agree with the other poster that you get what you pay for. I first started using this vet when I had six cats, and I needed low cost services. ACFB has the most reasonable pricing you're likely to find. They are good for the basic services, which is what most of our pets require. Personally, I prefer Dr. Kahn, who only works at this office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I had a 12.5yr old cat losing weight rather quickly. We ran all of the basic blood tests and nothing. Dr. Kahn prescribed Prednisolone, and my cat gained back all of the weight and was back to normal. Presumably, he has IBS or something similar, coupled with going off his food. Years ago they misdiagnosed ringworm, and all of my cats ended up catching it from the one infected cat. I have also had them give me ear solution for one of my cats, and what they gave me was actually eye drops. And yes, some of the front counter staff, that have been there for 20 years, are pretty sour and can be abrasive, but I'm more concerned about the vet treating my cat, and not the knucklehead taking my money.

Just remember that you get what you pay for! Yes, the facility is much older than most vet offices. Yes, the staff can be appear to be rude at first appearance (but once you get to know them, they are great!). Yes, the facility is often extremely crowded and you have to wait awhile. HOWEVER, if you are on a tight budget, this is WORTH IT for the much cheaper prices. I have a diabetic and hyperthyroid senior cat who needs a lot of visits and medicine each year. We would never be able to afford his care at a regular, modern vet. I will continue to drive back to FBAC from north Plano to save hundreds of dollars in visits and tests each year. (BTW, about all the complaints regarding the front staff: you just don't get them. They are definitely overworked and underpaid, but they all have a very sarcastic sense of humor that is often misinterpreted as rudeness. They also LOVE animals! Many of them have been pet owners for decades, and also have a great knowledge of pets! Treat them with patience and a smile, and they will work with you!) Most of the vets are great, too! Especially Dr. Spratt for Cats!

i just called on prices for my pet. I asked how much would it be for my pet to go in to get checked up very simple question i am sure they get asked this a couple times a day. The lady that answered was extremely rude answered me in a "what do you want type of way" it was enough for me not to go in.

Love, love, LOVE Animal Clinic of Farmer's Branch. No frills, no BS, to the point. They're a small clinic and VERY busy, but they do amazing work. I've taken all of my animals there for spays/neurters, shots, and surgeries. They're always helpful and, except for a wait at times, we're in and out pretty quickly. The prices can't be beat!! No, the staff won't kiss your butt and act like you and your animal are the only ones to visit the shop that day, but they'll also take the best care of your animal you've ever seen and won't charge you an arm and a leg for lip service or unnecessary tests. If you're looking for excellent health care for your animal, this is the place for you. If you want your ego stroked and your hiney shined, go pay triple the price elsewhere.
