Dr Perry and the rest of the doctors and Whitney in front were so very nice and nurturing to my little baby, they really took the time to go over what was going on with my dog. Dr Perry dimmed the lights went over xrays and took the time to explain the situation. They also let me visit her when she was in the oxygen tank and when I had to transport my little angel dog they let me borrow large O2 tank and hat for the 2 minute ride, these professionals really are compassionate and caring especially to my little baby's unfortunate situation, I had to go to an internal medicine doctor who just gave up on her and told her we needed to euthanize my dog, I really wish I could have just stayed at this emergency vet center and I know they would have tried harder to save her. I cannot thank this office enough for taking care of us. They are truly compassionate for animals and us owners :)
I took my dog in to DFW emergency clinic after he had surgery to remove a towel he had eaten. He was at home with me that evening to rest but was becomming uncomfortable. At the clinic, Dr. Cowser was quick to reassure me that they would place him on something overnight to help him feel better. They even let me go in the back to see where he was going to spend the night. I appreciated the compassion with which both Arthur and I were treated.
Tyson vomitted more than I've ever seen, it was 1am on a saturday, he had just been nuetered 2 weeks prior to that and we had also just moved into a new house, there were too many possibilities for his upset tummy for.me to feel comfortable waiting it out, and the blood in his vomit concerned me. We took him in, they recommended xrays but I was pretty sure he hadn't consumed any foreign objects, they explained everything to us, felt his tummy and even examined the huge bag of vomit I brought in. They inspected his incision from the nuetering and I feel they were very thorough. They sent us home 2 hours later with detailed care instructions and our bank account only $280 lighter.. not bad for emergency care. Turns out he was stressed about the move and devoured a bone I had given him as a treat, he's had similar bones a million times but there were golfball sized chunks of it in his vomit, they tore his tummy up and we had to rest his digestive system and watch him a few days. They also prescribed anti nausea medicine, gave him a shot to calm him down because he was so stressed, and sent us home with special food. The wait was a bit long considering no one else was in need of care but overall we're happy, Tyson is happier, and we would go here again if needed.
Our terrier/chihuahua got a paw stepped on by a german shepard at the dog park at 8pm on a sunday, he immediately cried and couldn't put any weight on it. We weren't positive what was going on and at first we thought about waiting it out until Monday morning and just putting some ice on it since he wasn't upset at all. I called DFW North to get an opinion. The front desk girl explained to me how it's possible it could be nothing, but that dogs don't show pain the same way we do and something could be very wrong. She explained that the exam is $120 and we could go from there. We ended up taking him in since he couldn't move around at all without pain and I'm so glad we did. It turned out that all four of his metacarpals (palm bones) in his left front paw were fractured. There was a bit of a wait, but any patients who come in with more serious conditions get treated first, so I was okay with that. Everyone was super nice and explained everything and gave us options. We opted to just get it splinted that night so it'd all be over and done with. He ended up getting everything completed before midnight, which I thought was amazingly fast for the actual procedures. Exam, xray, splint, anesthesia, ect totaled at just under $500, which since looking around at reviews for area vet offices seems to be super reasonable for after hours care. We're from Nevada and general vet prices here are really outrageous, so I was pleasantly surprised by the Emergency Care. If your animal is sick and you're just not sure, I say take them in. Even if it's just an exam to tell you what is wrong and pain meds. No matter what, you're going to be paying a lot of money, might as well save them as much pain as you can. Dr. Lacey and the whole staff was amazing, hopefully I never have to go back, but if I do; I know this is a fantastic place I can trust my boys to.
This is not a place I'd recommend for any animal you care about. Full documentation and witnesses are available to support this review. I was referred to this clinic by my dog's surgeon for overnight monitoring. Check-in required payment in full of an estimated cost, plus $100 to cover any overage – in advance. My drivers license number, Social Security number and birth date were required at check-in. Their treatment agreement states that “estimate” may be as much as 30% low. When I arrived to pick-up my dog, the veterinarian had to be awakened to explain my charges. I was charged $602.54 for my dog's overnight stay. The primary purpose of his stay was to monitor for heart arrhythmia after surgery. The dog was not continuously monitored during the night as recommended by his surgeon, only three spot checks were made in twelve hours. He was discharged with an IV needle still inserted and taped to his leg; no written or oral after-care instructions were given.
