Last summer my cat was given the wrong injection due to techs not reading/understanding the doctor's notes. Recently my cat was given Medicam which is only approved for dogs. Also, my cat was given a dose of Mirtazapine that was 600% of what is recommended for cats. Several times I have had trouble with the doctors not returning calls. Recently during my cat's last few days I ran out of pain meds and could not get the doctor to return my call. If you love your pets, take them somewhere else.

Dr. Marcum took great care of my cat when his kidneys started failing. He explained treatment options, answered our questions and was clear about what we could expect. When we returned to put down our cat, he and his staff were accommodating and empathetic.

I made an appointment here bc I have a free exam through Operation Kindness where I adopted my cat. The staff were friendly, yet didn't win my trust. I was put into a room that wasn't clean since there was black stuff all over two walls. When I went out to the waiting to ask to switch rooms, an employee was walking in who was talking to another employee and in her conversation called someone a 'bitch'. The nurse came into room to get my cat weighed, access visit, etc. He introduced himself bc I was wondering why he was there since the first tech already went through the questions with me. The nurse called my cat Whiskey Bottle which I thought weird bc Whiskey is already easy to remember. When I told him that my cat gives loves bites, he started schooling me on why I shouldn't harm him. I have never harmed any of my cats so I would've appreciated him inquiring further rather than telling me what to do. I reminded him that I volunteer at Operation Kindness as well and take care of my pets (I had a 17yr old cat who passed away last year). Whiskey gets spooked anyway when you jerk away so you don't get bitten. He is still new to my home so I let him approach me which he does often. The doctor was fine, but I had to ask him to lower his booming voice bc this was my first visit to a vet with my cat. Whiskey is very skittish and cautious even when he's at home so this visit was overwhelming for him. Overall Whiskey was a good patient and managed well. I am not sure if I want to go back after this experience. I thought with the good reviews from other clients that I would have had something positive to say. Whiskey needs a serious dental cleaning which may require extractions. I will need to know that he will be given the best care which wasn't communicated today.

Great facility, great welcoming staff, knowledgable Doc's. We've taken our pet to Dr. Marcum for years !!!

We took our new Doberman puppy to have her 2nd round of shots and her ears cropped after reading the rave reviews about Dr. Debbie Schaeffer in D Magazine. She and her staff were very informative and patient from our 1st phone call on. You can tell they really care about their patients. We would HIGHLY recommend this clinic!
