My ferret was having really bad issues, we thought he was going to die. So at 3AM we him to the emergency vet. They got him in the back room for tests within 5 minutes. He was back in my arms in 30, with medicine and a report on what he has. He is now better and is back to himself. I'm glad I came here! Staff is very nice and helpful. Glad my little guy will be okay thanks to them. ☺

it is a bit pricy but its not as expensive as other clinics that I looked up. they are very fast and really nice, they defiantly know what they are doing. They let you call anytime day or night to know the health and status of your pet. I had to take my guinea pig in at around 12 AM because she ate some oleander from my back yard and with in a few hours she was eating again and and moving around a little which is really good because when I took her in she was having convulsions, squeaking from pain, and not wanting to eat or drink anything let alone move. Thank you very much Dr.Olivares.

My dog had a badly broken leg. Took her to this clinic and paid 500 for her to be seen and taken care of. The vet we took her to the next day said that they did not give him the correct information about her break and he COULD NOT believe that they did NOT even splint her BADLY broken leg. So for 500 bucks she was sedated and not "treated". Office called me to check on Our dog and to follow up on this review. All of their staff is incredible nice. I stand by my review that the minimum care our dog should have received was a splint to minimize furthered damage to her tissue and broken bone.

CAUTION! My vet suggested a CT scan to find out why my cat had a narrow trachea. I chose to go to VMS which is associated with The Animal Emergency Hospital because it was nearby. Big mistake! The emergency room tech was rude when I asked if they had ever seen a cat in this condition… raspy purr and labor breathing. She told me that she didn’t know the medical history in a rude way. That was not my question? I had second thoughts about leaving her after that but I wanted to keep her on oxygen and my vets office was closed. The Animal Emergency put my cat in an oxygen tank but it was set very low (below 50%). My vet had her on oxygen 90-100%. When I asked them about the low setting, they told me that the oxygen would only escape from the cracks, if they turned it up. They tested my cat in the oxygen tank and again when she was in the room with me. The results showed her oxygen levels were higher in the open environment than when she was in the oxygen tank. Not good! I should have known that leaving her there was a big mistake. The next morning, I was called in to speak to vet, Dr. Caeley Melmed at Veterinary Medicine Specialists of DFW (VMS), which is in the same building. She wanted to talk about my cat’s medical history. She spent about 15 minutes with me. She was cold, short (cutting me off at times), and rude to say the least. I saw no compassion. She came off to me as being mean. She gave me options and asked me what I wanted to do and left the room to write up an estimate. I asked to see my cat but they told me that I needed to sign the estimate first. I demanded to see my cat, not just once, but several times. Well, I finally got to see my cat and they gave me a timeline of 5 minutes. The estimate was $3,635 for everything. They also warned me that she could die during the procedure because of her labored breathing. It was a very hard discussion to make in such a short period of time. And it was all about TIME, if I didn’t sign and schedule it NOW it was not going to happen today. I didn’t want my cat to suffer so I signed. I questioned, Could it be allergies? But, the answer was “No”. My cat was transferred from the emergency side to VMS around 10AM and I got a phone call at 1:20PM that my cat had stopped breathing during the procedure, but she still had a heart beat and was breathing again but was discolored and didn t look good. Melmed asked if I wanted to continue with the testing. But, I said “No stop everything and take her off of anesthesia”. Dr. Melmed did not respect my wishes and refused to take her off of anesthesia until I got there. I was so upset and felt like the anesthesia was killing her. I arrived within 15 minutes and was sent into a room to wait another 5-10 minutes. And then, I was asked to sign another consent form before I was allowed to go back to the operating room to see my cat. It was a NIGHTMARE. The consent form should have been waiting for me when I arrived. Sadly, I choose to put my cat to sleep but I know that she suffered very much in their care. My VMS bill was $893 (after I asked for a credit). My cat was with VMS for 3 hours. They tried to charge me for Euthanasia Emergency $89 and Euthanasia Take Home $66. What?? They euthanized her once. The emergency side over charged me for oxygen too. VMS and the Emergency side were billing for oxygen at the same time. When I complained to the Melmed about not being able to see my cat until I signed the Estimate, she simply told me that I was lucky that she was able to schedule the procedure because it usually takes days to get in. I felt like it was all about TIME and MONEY. Not the wellbeing of my cat. How insensitive, the credit card receipt printout says THANK YOU! PLEASE COME AGAIN. Believe me, I will not go back and DO NOT recommend them to anyone. Bad practice, by both facilities Animal Emergency & VMS!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience here. I brought my dog in about 4AM and was very emotional as my dog was very lethargic and in a lot of pain. The staff from beginning to end was absolutely phenomenal. Dr. B (Brandt? i think?) was very thorough, sincere, and caring. He explained the procedure in depth to make sure I understood everything and all the costs. When I returned to pick up my dog, I received the same phenomenal service and attention. Being very attached to my dog, I can't say enough how comfortable the staff made me feel. I hope I don't have to return but will be sure to recommend this location to any pet owner I know!
