We took our Great Dane puppy to them at 7 weeks for an ear crop. The ears turned out great, and for the quality of crop we received, the price was fair. My only complaint for that service is that most vets who offer this service (not my first time to have a dog's ears cropped) provide the aftercare and taping as a courtesy and include it in the upfront price whereas they do not. Now for the bad part. Our puppy ended up having a having a heart defect and we ended up euthanizing him at 2.5 months. This particular condition could have been detected early if the vet had paid attention during one of the 4 or 5 visits he had during the previous weeks. If detected early, we could have sought out surgery to correct the defect, but he was already dying by the time it was caught. He gained only 4 to 5 pounds in a month instead of the 3 to 5 a week most Danes gain and I brought this to their attention just about every time I dropped him off. Turns out, this was one of the recognizable signs of a problem. Bottom line, Dr Jiminez did not ask questions when he should have been, and when confronted about this, he made excuses as to why he never bothered. We were asking the questions, he just dismissed them until it was far too late to do anything for the puppy. My advice is to avoid securing their services for anything but ear cropping, and if you do, please have the puppy simultaneously reviewed by another vet. We should have taken him somewhere else before bringing our baby here to have a thorough check done. We will never come back here.
Great service. I have a large, very fluffy cat, who requires sedation for grooming. Perfect cut, cat wasn't pissed off when I picked him up, and inexpensive.
Within the last few months its been a real struggle for me with moving from one state to another and my dog felt the stress as well, she started to lose some hair and her skin was becoming red and inflammed, i was looking online to find the closest veterinarian clinc around my area and came across this hospital. I gave them a call to get quotes on their prices, and thought they were pretty affordable so decide to set up an appointment. The doctor was simply wonderful in explaning everything in detail and being patient with me after asking so many questions, and the nurses were friendly and helpful as well. I was amazed on how much our new enviorment is affecting my pet, i had never really had a problem with fleas in the past and was shocked to learn how big of a problem it is down here with this houston weather the negative affect it had on my pet, but after receiving the treatment recommended by the doctor she is now adpting well and is back to normal.
I was very impressed with this clinic. Dr. J. was very thorough and gave me several options for the care of my elderly dog. The techs were very capable, and the front desk people were knowledgeable. Even the subdued lighting in the waiting room seemed to have a calming effect on my dog.
The doctor was nice, but other than that I was not impressed with this place. The two girls working the counter were really young and seemed more interested in getting off their shift than helping me. When I went in it was very dark with very few lights on and really warm, they must be hurting if they are skimping on electricity this much. That almost made me feel bad until they told me they wanted to charge me $250 for just a few basic services, and that was with what they called a "good samaritan discount" because the dog I was having evaluated was one I had rescued from a street corner. She was very skittish because of her ordeal and they were not gentle with her, she ended up getting her head banged on the corner of the exam table because they could not pick her up correctly. Part of the $250 charge included a $35 fee for trimming an approximately 1"x1" patch of hair where a hot spot was located. I can get my entire miniature poodle bathed, nails trimmed, and hair cut for that price. I guess I shouldn't be so surprised by a place located in Vintage Park, but I won't be back here.
