I've been taking Mojo (senior greyhound) to Bissonnet Southhampton for years. Not just for preventative care and teeth cleaning, but we prefer to board here, too. Pros: I can call in with questions like "Should I be worried that my dog at 3 kitkat bars?" and "Can I drop off a sample, I think he picked up worms?" and they'll give me a response right away. All staff is knowledgeable and very polite, from the techs to the vets. And, just for future reference, you CAN drop off just a sample if you're up to date on exams. Much easier than having to bring the whole dog in! Cons: PARKING. It's a nightmare to try to back into or out of the parking lot with a 75 pound dog in the back seat. Also the building itself, since it is an old house, is very creaky and quite loud when there is a full house. Overall, very pleased with the level of care and won't take my dog anywhere else for medical or dental treatment. Boarding books up fast so I've been known to use someone else, but I try not to if I can help it. I've never had anyone push any product on me, FYI. I mean, they'll tell you about something new (like oral flea + heartworm when it came out a few years ago) but if you aren't interested, they move on. I've never felt harangued or anything.

I had a very poor experience when visiting the Bissonnet-Southampton Vet Clinic. While the staff in the waiting room was quite nice, I felt as though once I entered the exam room, I was spontaneously being bombarded with crappy products (a dog food with corn as the first ingredient, and meat byproduct as the second... recommended and sold by the vet!), unnecessary procedures, and fear mongering (I'm glad I had done research on many of the vet's chosen topics, otherwise I would've been scared to death that I was ruining my puppies life)! My new rule of thumb: Do not visit a vet who recommends a very unhealthy dog food... they're just trying to increase the frequency of your visits!

BEWARE! The worst clinic my family and I and our pet have ever experienced. This clinic is dirty, smelly, and overpriced. Not to mention the owner VET. If you dare to leave your pet here while vacationing, prepare for little to no care for your pet. Ours pet was clearly neglected. The reviews below are old. Please go elsewhere!

I have been taking my three dogs to Bissonnet Southampton for years. I would not dream of taking them anywhere else. I have never been forced to buy anything that could be deemed unnecessary. All of the vets are very kind and caring. The staff always calls to check on the pet following any procedures. I highly recommend them to any and all pet lovers. It is obvious that others feel the same way because the clients I meet in the lobby are usually long time customers wtih multiple pets. It is not dirty, smelly or overpriced. Obviously, someone just wanted to complain about something. No pet would ever be neglected at Bissonnet Southampton. I dare you to find a better place to take your pets.

The quality of a vet should always be exceptional, but Bissonnet-Southampton goes above and beyond on Service as well. I get reminder calls/emails before appointments, and they call a few days afterwards to follow-up on treatments and check for any questions. They make time for me during any unexpected crisis that happens more often than not with my black Standard Schnauzer. The online service/pharmacy is amazing as well and saves me time in my busy schedule. I can't believe I have moved away. They always say you don't know what a good thing you have til it's gone.
