My wife and I just adopted a rescue puppy from CAP and took our new little furry family member for a check up, heartworm and shots with Dr. Rutledge. I can honestly say I chose this clinic because of the excellent reviews from various websites and what can I say; his clinic/staff does live up to their legendary reputation. They ask a lot of questions to get to know the pets behavior, they answered all my questions, they take their time during examination, and they are very gentle and friendly (as well as affordable!). They have a new patient for life and in the future I will refer anyone and everyone to take their pets to experience this wonderful clinic!

Great place. Love the doctor and the staff. Always a pleasure. Very friendly environment. The prices are great too. I take my dogs and cat there. I would take my kid there if I could.

An absolute God-send. NOT SURE WHY IT SHOWS 1 STAR!! This vet is a 5-star vet!!!! We have four labs, and we've brought them to Dr. Rutledge for various reasons (shots, exams, injuries, etc.) and every time he absolutely amazes us with his knowledge, his caring, and his cost-consciousness. Because, in reality, cost is a factor when caring for an animal. And he always chooses the treatment that is the best for the dog and the best for our wallet. Perfect example: last night, we discovered my dog had a deep puncture wound on her inner thigh from jumping onto a upturned twig. It was 9pm took her to the Emergency Vet, they performed a basic debridement, gave her a shot of antibiotics and pain meds then gave me an estimate to complete her treatment: over $700 in surgical procedures and labs. Said 'no thanks' and took her to Dr. R. this morning, he says, "It's deep but surgery to clean it isn't necessary and it'd be too expensive, so I'll give you a cleaning solution, do it 2x per day until Friday and I'll check her then." Total cost: $86. This is typical, when my other lab got a deep gash on her ear, he stitched it up, wrapped it up, gave me antibiotics for under $100... and then had me come back every 2 days for a week so he could check and re-wrap it... free of charge! I wish I could give him 10-stars, because he's worth it.

This is such a wonderful vet practice - they get down on the floor with the bigger dogs and chat with them before examining them. The dogs get so relaxed with this approach compared to having them stand on a high table. The prices are very reasonable, they have respect for their human clients and discuss options for treatment. I highly recommend them!

Dr. Rutledge is a great vet - very compassionate to both animals and people. He has cared for all of our pets over the years and has been so helpful, especially when we had to make some tough decisions. Also, the prices are very reasonable. We moved from the area a couple of years ago, but still make the drive back when our dog needs vet care!
