Our dog was diagnosed with a brain tumor in late January. Woody had a seizure at night and we took him to Vergi. The staff was wonderful and understood our concern as this was the first ever seizure. Our dog stayed the night and we received updates reassuring us he was doing well. Over the next 5 months Woody went back to Vergi twice for seizures that occurred late at night. Our final trip to Vergi was June 17, 2014. Woody began having multiple seizures and the decision was made that it was time to put him to sleep. He was having a terrible seizure as we arrived. The staff was immediately at the door to help, took him in the back, and escorted our family to a private waiting area. The doctor came to speak with us and confirmed that it was time to euthanize Woody. The staff brought him into the room. He was on a stretcher with a blanket, an IV had been administered and he was on medication to allow him to be comfortable. The doctor and staff discretely left allowing our family privacy. Dr. Spade was so compassionate and kind when the end came. You spoke to each of our sons answering questions. I will always remember her every so gently laying a hand on my arm as we left the room after he was gone telling me that she could tell how special he was to our family, and that she knew I (Mom) would miss her terribly. Several days later we received a sympathy card from the staff and Dr. Spade. No one wants to say good bye to their beloved pet but over the past five months Vergi was there for our sweet golden retriever.
Our dog Arnold had knee surgery and a day later he managed to remove his bandages exposing the wound that was not completely healed yet. Being a Saturday night her regular vet was not open. We called around to different clinics and they all wanted to charged an outrageous amount of money( keep in mind by this point we had already spent almost $2000.00 between the surgery and the medicine). We finally decided to take him to V.E.R.G.I. Once we got there the staff checked us in right away and took Arnold to the back to do the exam and replace his bandages. We later spoke with the doctor who was very knowledgeable. We were happy (and surprised) that the charge was only 65 dollars considering other places water to charge $200 plus. The care and the staff were beyond our expectations. We definitely recommend this place.
