When I brought my Cat in and learned that he was stage 3 kidney failure, I had made the decision to put him down. It was difficult. Dr. Springer, was the Vet whom was assigned to me, after I told another Doctor that I did not care for her to treat my pet. When she walked into the exam room, my heart fell. During the process of having my pet pass, she lied to me twice. Once saying that my cat bit her, which she told me later that he didn't. And that She had to take him from me, (when my wishes were to hold my cat during this process) to put him in a tank to make him sleep with gas. When I asked about giving him a shot, she refused. She brought him back to me with a face mask on my pet. He wasn't in a tank. He was already half dead, not sleeping before the final shot was giving. I am grateful that my cat is not suffering today, however, I was left with a great amount of grief not having my wishes granted and that my cat did suffer. Dr. Springer in my opinion doesn't have a heart for pets or people relations. Perhaps she should go back to school for some people skills. If I ever get another pet, I will not be bring them to this clinic. I want a vet I can trust and will not lie. There is more to this event, but enough said; I am left with unsettling grief. I had another pet put down a few weeks back with Kingsland Vet clinic and they were more professional. I regret not taking my cat to Kingsland this last time.
I was looking for a 24 hour clinic for my dog. He was bleeding while going to the bathroom and it was a lot. We were worried so at around 11 we brought him to All Pets. They were very sweet to Petey and very responsive. They took amazing care of him. When I brought Petey in he was so sick it has heart breaking to watch. The next day I got the call that he responded well to everything and that we could pick him up that night. I saw a complete change in him and it was all thanks to All Pets. I couldn't and can't thank them enough.
If I lived in the Katy area I would definitely use this clinic. It looked as if their First Chip Day which was a huge success. Very efficiently run & well organized. Although my neighborhood info was wrong concerning the pricing (they said it was $1., & apparently they weren't the only ones to get it wrong) this was not the fault of the clinic. Extremely friendly & efficient staff. I know they all must have bee exhausted by the end of the day but I hope they know how appreciated their service was! Thank you very much All Pets Animal Hospital!
Our cat Stormy hurt her eye on Sat evening, so we rushed her to All Pets for emergency treatment. After she was weighed, a fluffy towel was placed onto the cold metal exam table before she was gently placed down. A thorough, yet gentle, examination followed and we were urged to call if we had any concerns about her condition or bring her straight back in if she didn't show signs of improvement by Sun morning. We were also shown how to apply antibiotic eye gel and given painkillers to make her more comfortable. The cost of this emergency care was very reasonable and the clinic also sent a fax to our vet on Mon morning, detailing all aspects of her condition and medication. Thank you very much!!!!!
If you don't agree with the recommended level of treatment you may have the humane society called on you!!! I am really disappointed in the treatment my son received during a recent visit. When my son's 14 yr old jack rat terrier's rear leg was injured during a fight with our boston terrier, he took her in for after hours treatment. The attending Vet - Sarah M. Heineman, D.V.M. started berating my son as soon as he hit the door. She did everything she could to make him feel like he did not love the pet he raised from a nursing pup. She told him your dog needs multiple X-rays, Lab Tests, LAZER DERMAL cleaning, etc etc etc. She threw everything she could at him. The estimate was $1100. My son called me to ask for advice. I asked him about her condition... How is she acting? Was she stressed? What about her leg, how is she behaving with the injury? Did the leg appear swollen or broken? He told me she was fine but had a bite mark on her leg and he felt it needed attention. But he did not agree with her assessment and certainly not LAZER DERMAL Cleaning. I told him to have the vet clean the wound , give her an antibiotic and maybe pain meds should she need it during the night or the next day. The vet advised against that level of care and said he should follow thru with the treatments she ordered. He told her he could not afford to pay $1100 and we did not agree with her assessment or level of treatment. She told him if he did not follow thru with her treatment recommendations she would call the humane society and report him for cruelty to animals. He told her go ahead do what you want but we only want you to clean the wound, give her antibiotics and pain meds just in case. GUESS WHO SHOWED UP AT OUR HOUSE THE NEXT DAY? Yep a CONSTABLE. I asked how I could help and he told me an anonymous complaint had been filed with the Humane Society and he had to investigate. I welcomed him into my house, took him to see our dog and his response was "This was a useless unwarranted call." Guess he did not agree with the vet as our dog was upstairs on her pillow laying on her wounded leg. As soon as we walked up to her she stood up and gave her tail a wag. From there I took him outside where our Jack Russel and Boston Terrier were out playing. I wanted to make sure he saw how GOOD our animals have it. And they have it good. How dare you make an anonymous call to the humane society because we don't agree with you. How dare you accuse us of not being good caregivers to our animals. That he brought the dog in for wound care should have been an indication of how much we love our dogs. We raised this dog from a newborn.... We raised her father from a new born also. We have had terriers for decades. We love our dogs very much. Just because you have a degree does not give you the right to pile on unnecessary treatment and charges. And it certainly does not give you the right to call the humane society if you do not get you way. If you were truly concerned then why not call the police that night? Why allow him to take her back to a bad home? Why threaten my son and then make an anonymous call to the humane society? If your call was righteous you should have left your name. This vet crossed the line. And when I contacted the owner..... He listened, said he would investigate, said he would call my son, said he would check the video..... but in the end he did not do a thing. I even offered to bring our dog down so the owner could see for himself that the level of treatment recommended to us that night was overkill. NADA. RELUCTANT TO TRUST ANY VET AFTER THIS!!!!
