Hands down the best when it comes to caring for your pet. ALL of the staff is very friendly and helpful, not to mention very quick and professional. I have never once, in the 4 years going, have had to wait for more than 15minutes, and that was walking in without an appointment and they were busy. I can personally recommend Dr. Richards as I've been seeing him for all this time. Dr. Richards has spent so much time with my dog and myself making sure that everything is explained and why he is doing what he is doing. It is very obvious that Dr. Richards loves pets and truly cares. After going another vet over the Thanksgiving holiday I was reminded at how amazing this establishment really is. I recommend this animal hospital hands down.

We have only seen Casey Carothers at AHL for our pets. Obviously, we love her. She's down to earth, not an alarmist, and has no problem calling in generic prescriptions to local pharmacies to save us money. She only recommends procedures if really needed and will tell you one way or the other. Too many vets tell you it's a must that your pet have a bundle of "whatever"...instead of asking about your pet's environment, routine, exposures, etc. Questions with answers that tell your vet what your pet would most benefit from. We have taken our pets to cheaper clinics to save money, but have come back to AHL...twice. Care for your children and your pets means just that...care. Knowing that those in charge of your child or your pet's health care really do care is priceless. What we did was applied for and received a CareCredit card that we use only for our pet's needs. We will always be able to get what they need, even if we don't have the cash right then. So no more hit and miss searching for lower cost vet care. Our vet, Casey Carothers at AHL, is set for life, and that feels good. Although we have never had an issue with AHL staff, if it happened we would not leave our pet's vet. For us, she is the most important person when it comes to their health care. Thanks so much, Casey!!

My experience here was mehhh... I walked in for my appointment and stood there for a good 5 minutes before they acknowledged my presence. The receptionists didn't seem very happy to be there but hey, it might have been a busy/off day. I then met with Dr. Richards- he seemed like a knowledgeable guy but he acted like I knew nothing about my dog's chronic condition. On the bright side, I really liked the head tech Becky- very personable. I also thought it was nice that they "welcome" you with a little kit. Lastly, this is the most expensive Vet hospital I have been to so far with a visit costing around $54.00. Overall, they are ok.

I was quoted a price of 127$ for a procedure on my daughters kitten. When I received the bill it was 100$ higher than the quote. 28$ of which was extra charges that I had agreed upon for a rabies booster and take home pain meds. The rest was for anesthesia, pain meds, antibiotic, and a tag for the rabies vaccine. Seriously- I have never been quoted a price for surgery where anesthesia and antibiotics were not included, not has any vet ever charged me 5 $ extra for a tag. We have used many vets in the past but never had one lie to us- this will be the last time we will use Animal Hospital of Lubbock. After this was written I received a letter stating that due to the misunderstanding I would be receiving a check to refund for the difference and several days later they did send a check for a little over 100$. Because I appreciate the fact that they ultimately did the right thing and they obviously care about their reputation I am upgrading their star level to a three.

I give 5 stars! I have been going here for yrs. The ladies at the front greet you the second you walk in and ALWAYS remember my dogs names. Dr. Richards is their primary, however, I've found others to be equally as interested in giving the best care. Everyone is respectful and treats my dogs as their own. I had to put Simba down a few yrs. ago after a long illness. EVERYONE was concerned about his welfare and they signed a card and sent a paw print in resin when he passed. I will never go anywhere else, because these people truly do care about your pet and you.
