Was recommended to visit North 10th Animal Hospital by my good friend and fellow animal lover. The staff was accommodating and I appreciated the time the vet spent with my pup, Freddy. The staff is not rushed and listens to your concerns. The service is exceptional. It is a little pricier than other vets, but well worth the price. They have strict appointment times, but I appreciate that. Respect their time and they will definitely respect yours!
Dr. Peacock and North 10th St. Hospital staff were absolutely wonderful on our last visit. Very attentive and professional from start to finish. My two fur babies Bam-bam and Juno loved all the attention and the warm friendly faces. The front desk clerk was kind enough to lend me two leashes since I forgot mine, the technician was very knowledgeable and courteous with us. Dr. Peacock was extremely attentive and answered all of my questions and was straight forward with all of my treatment options. My family and I are so happy to have found such professional service with compassion for our sweet dogs. Highly recommend Dr. Peacock and her staff for quality loving care for the little fur babies in your life!!!!
My first experience was when my cat of 16 years died, in my arms and I knew I couldn't keep her forever…I called this place because they had options for her and I wanted her cremated. They gently took her from me got my information, her name and said they would take care of her…It killed me but they were really kind…After Gaysha died I rescued a german shepherd named Koda and take him there now as well…Reasonable prices, polite staff, many options for care available…Glad I found you...
I have been taking my Boston Terrier here for a few months but I am never going back. Made an appointment for third round of shots, but prior to said appointment, she ingested a stick of sugar-free gum that did NOT contain the chemical xylitol which is lethal to dogs and naturally the vet refused to vaccinate and adamantly recommended hospitalization. As much as I care about my dog, I am in college and can't afford that sort of inflated vet bill so I held off on the hospital stay. What really upset me was the only advice I received from North 10th Street Animal Hospital was "Pet Doctor 911 is open 24/7 if anything happens, I can get you their number," and that office is expensive as heck. Luckily, my dog was alive the next day but still seriously unwell and lethargic and yelled and screamed in pain for hours on end. I couldn't watch my dog suffer any longer and took her to Animal Border Hospital in Weslaco because I thought maybe she WAS dying. Anyway, the vet there was straight up about her condition and bluntly assured had she eaten xylitol gum, she would have been dead within hours because blood sugar levels drop so low most dogs don't survive. Also, staff performed a fecal test and discovered bacteria in her intestines. I found N. 10th Animal Hospital response to my pet's condition was quite ambiguous and vague because they did not advise what I could administer to comfort my dog or relieve pain and offered minimal support. During frantic times, especially for a first time pet owner, professional help and guidance is paramount because google can only provide so much. I am sure they figured my pet was going to die anyway without their hospitalization albeit I confirmed the gum ingredient list did not contain xylitol. Moral of the story: if you have a pesky pooch that eats everything they find make sure to only purchase sugar-free gum like Orbitz/Stride/Trident that DOES NOT CONTAIN XYLITOL.
I have been a customer for almost 20 years, since they were on 23rd st. I can't imagine what we would have done without their professionalism, kindness and overall compassion for our furry family. They have always been there for all of us and I would highly recommend them to anyone who seeks quality and compassion in their veterinarians, staff & Smiley!!
