At first, we loved this place. They took good care of our cat and dog (even though they were a little expensive). Then, we took a stray cat in to get checked out because we were going to be adopting it. When they examined the cat, they determined it was a GIRL and PREGNANT. Needless to say, we freaked out, and we started buying kitten supplies (as well as spending more than $300 in x-rays and ultrasounds). It turns out, the cat was NEVER pregnant. They read the (brand-new-never-been-used) sonogram machine wrong. So we took her to a new vet. This new vet discovered that SHE is really a HE. And he's been neutered. We were shocked and disappointed that Animal Care Center couldn't even distinguish a male cat from a female cat. And on top of that, telling us she was pregnant!!!! Animal Care Center has agreed to refund us the cost of the x-rays, ultrasound and physical exam. In my opinion, they could have done more. We are NEVER going to that place again. Be warned!!!!

I have been taking my dogs to Animal Care Center and Dr. Grand since we moved to McKinney nearly four years ago. I am always impressed by how kind and attentive her assistants are and how she explains everything. Very nice facilities for boarding too. I wouldn't want to leave my dogs with anyone else. They get more time outside and more attention at Animal Care Center than anywhere else in the area. Trust me, I called everyone!

I was reading the other reviews, and I guess I haven't been there that often to get to get into a situation like those people did (that sucks!). Anyway, we take our miniature dachshund there, and for the most part, we like it. He went there for all of his puppy stuff (shots, check ups, etcs) and they love him! This is my first time paying for vet bills, but after calling around, their prices seemed pretty reasonable. I always think med prices are too expensive (being a pharmacist and knowing the cost of human meds), but other than that I've had no complaints. They even let me walk in close to closing to avoid a trip to the emergency vet. We did have kind of a misdiagnosis, but I didn't really think anything of it. It's hard to tell what people have when they get persistant diarrhea, much less puppies. She gave him all kinds of meds and did tests (which the poor thing hated!) and it turned out he just couldn't have rawhide--a common situation for sensitive stomachs, so that whole thing was kind of annoying. The technicians are AWESOME. You can really tell they run the place, and they are so friendly and loving on our puppy. Dr. Grand definitely seems scatterbrained when we go in.
